The Role: This role will be part of our Saab Seaeye Business Unit In Fareham. You will be responsible for the assembly and integration of remotely operated vehicles and their supporting equipment in line with the configuration document, ensuring that all projects are completed in time and in-line with delivery schedules whilst working to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: * Integrate all assemblies and sub-assemblies to produce complete systems as per the customer specification and in accordance with company documentation. * Conduct all testing required, proving system functionality, including all auxiliaries as per customer requirements. * Provide offsite/offshore commissioning and customer support as and when required by the company or by customer. * Fault find and repair equipment as situations dictate and ensure that all faults and issues are reported in the appropriate format. * Raise change requests and provide information to improve product quality or improve efficiency to support continual improvement process. * Interpreting designs, engineering information and electrical drawings to assemble and test working assemblies and proto-types. * Appropriate use of all relevant IT and other systems required to perform the role. * Using personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day to day activities and procedures within the specified role. * Complying with 6S best practice and health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment. * To act ethically, with integrity and in the best interest of the business at all times. * To maintain a professional and supportive relationship with other departments in order to deliver business and delivery objectives or deadlines. * To carry out any other duties as detailed by the Engineering Manager or his authorised representative. Skills and Experience: * Minimum HNC/HND qualification preferably in Electronics. * Good knowledge in the use of fibre optic termination, equipment and testing. In this role, you will gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of our product range and have the opportunity to manufacture a range of ROV assemblies from component level through to final testing and sign off. Additionally, you will gain an understanding of real world performance and use fault-finding methods to perform route cause analysis on returned products that require servicing or refurbishment. Key Responsibilities: * You will be responsible and accountable for the manufacture and repair of electro-mechanical assemblies. * Have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics to assist with building and fault finding across the product range. * To ensure soldering and electrical looming is carried out to a high standard. * To assist with pressure and soak testing of all Saab Seaeye components when required, in a timely fashion. * To maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant IT (Information & Technology) and other systems required to adequately perform the role * Previous experience working on complex medium to large Electro-mechanical and Hydraulic assemblies, down to a component level. * Be familiar with 6S principles and lean working initiatives. * To maintain a professional and supportive relationship with team members and other departments in order to deliver business and delivery objectives or deadlines. * To act ethically, with integrity and in the best interest of the business at all times. * To keep good time management to minimise any wasted time and maximise productivity and effectiveness. * To keep good time management to minimise any wasted time and maximise productivity and effectiveness. * To use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day-to-day activities and procedures within the specified role. * To carry out any other duties as detailed by your Supervisor or Manager from time to time. Required Skills: * Ability to interpret electro/mechanical/hydraulic schematics. * Proven knowledge and experience of mechanical engineering practices. * Should have an understanding of electronic manufacturing practices, such as IPC or equivalent. * Have the ability to use proven fault finding methods to diagnose electrical and electronic faults to PCB board level. Desirable Skills: * Component level diagnostics would be advantageous * A formal qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering - NVQ level 3 or equivalent. * Previous use of electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes/megger/multi meters. Job Summary: This role is a part of the Saab Seaeye business unit (underwater robotics). In this role, you will be at the forefront of undersea robotic technology. Your focus will be working on the development and productionisation of our new robotic Work class vehicle. You will be required to carry out wiring and build of complex assemblies, working closely with our Projects & Production Engineering departments. Key accountabilities and responsibilities: * To ensure that the wiring of assembly's are built to the correct quality standard to meet production and after sales deadlines. * To have a good understanding of electrical drawings. * To ensure any design or build issues are reported to the wiring workshop supervisor. * To ensure soldering and electrical looming is carried out to a high standard. * To modify (i.e. mark out and drill/deburr) parts within the scope of the electrical build. * To ensure that their working area is a safe and clean environment. * To ensure good housekeeping and a safe working environment in line with company Health and safety policy. * To act ethically, with integrity and in the best interest of the business at all times * To maintain a professional and supportive relationship with other departments in order to deliver business and delivery objectives or deadlines. * To carry out any other duties as detailed by the Operations manager or his authorized representative.
