During the Graduate programme you will be able to rotate into three different teams, which will give you a broad and varied experience, allowing you to hone your skills and strengths before choosing which area you’d like to explore more. Your rotations will be within our core tech teams. During these rotations you could be: * Working on customer experience and journeys across our apps and website, creating backend APIs alongside our Services teams. * Making sure our systems are stable and reliable in our Site Reliability teams. * Working with our Data Engineering teams to ensure all the information we store is safe and secure, but ready to be accessed at a moment’s notice. * Supporting our Cloud teams as we finish our migration to AWS. You may also have the option to rotate outside of tech after your first rotation into another business area, if there are any other areas you would like to explore. No matter the area you work within, you’ll receive training to equip you with the tools to drive forward your development and ours. What you’ll need We understand this may be your first role, or that you might not have experience within a professional tech environment. And that’s okay! We don’t mind what degree background or grades you have, but we want to see: * You have a good foundation of coding skills (in any language). * You have the flexibility and aptitude for the learning it takes to master lots of different tools and technologies. * Your approach when it comes to coding and how you solve problems. * How you communicate and collaborate with others. * Your enthusiasm about tech and Capital One. The Recruitment Process Step 1: Apply! We don’t screen CV’s so there’s no need to tailor your CV or attach a cover letter. After your initial application, if you meet the eligibility criteria you will be sent online testing to complete, which will assess the core skills required for the role. Step 2: Next up, you will be invited to complete a one way video interview, looking at your motivations for the role and some examples where you’ve shown the soft skills we’re looking for. Step 3: You’ll get to (virtually) meet with two members of our tech team during the assessment day, which consists of a pair programming exercise and a presentation and strengths based interview. Step 4: The final interview, where you will be invited to meet with one of our Senior Software Managers in person. Where and how you'll work This is a permanent position based at our Nottingham office. We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home.
