As a Production Line Leader in our world‑class food manufacturing facility, you will lead a team on a production line to deliver safe, high‑quality, and efficient output. You will ensure quality standards are met, safety procedures are followed, and your team exceeds target output and change‑over expectations. Through coaching, training, and daily guidance, you’ll build the capability and confidence of production operatives, driving a culture of accountability, high performance, and operational excellence. • Contract: Permanent, • Salary: £15.34 per hour, • Working Hours: Monday – Thursday nights (44 hours), • Location: Blackburn, • On‑site gym, • Cycle to work scheme, • Product discount, • Birthday day off, • Pension scheme, employer contribution at 4 % People Safety: Promote a safety‑first mindset by ensuring your team follows all health and safety procedures, reports hazards promptly, and actively participates in safety initiatives. Lead by example to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Product Quality: Ensure all products produced on your line meet required quality standards. Follow SOPs, perform routine quality checks, complete paperwork, and address any issues quickly and effectively to avoid repeat problems. Operational Efficiency: Lead the team to deliver the daily production plan by managing changeovers effectively, reducing downtime, and meeting targets for output, waste, and cost control. Team Leadership & Development: Coach, support, and motivate your team. Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and address performance concerns constructively to ensure fair and consistent development and engagement. Production Performance Management: Deliver the daily production plan, ensuring output and efficiency targets are achieved, lead and coordinate changeovers within target timeframes, control the number of operators by BOMs, accurately update trackers, and monitor line performance proactively. Quality & Compliance: Ensure SOP and quality procedure compliance, complete all CCP checks accurately, communicate quality expectations to prevent NCRs, act as a role model for quality standards, maintain audit readiness, and support quality investigations and corrective actions. Health & Safety: Ensure consistent follow‑up of health and safety procedures, report incidents, near misses, and hazards immediately, reinforce safety behaviours, and assign tasks only to fully trained team members. Team Leadership & Development: Set clear goals and expectations each shift, recognize and celebrate strong performance, support underperformance through coaching, treat everyone with respect, ensure timely job rotations, and deputise for the Shift Manager when needed. Communication & Collaboration: Conduct clear shift handovers, maintain walk‑away standards, use the site escalation process, log equipment breakdowns, and share relevant information with Engineers. Stock Accuracy & Waste Control: Accurately complete stock returns, ensure correct raw material and packaging usage, monitor and report waste, and implement effective waste‑reduction actions. • Leadership & Communication: Confident leading a team, providing guidance, and communicating effectively with respect., • Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledgeable in workplace safety and proactive in promoting a safe environment., • Production Knowledge: Skilled in managing line operations and changeovers in a fast‑paced setting., • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Address issues calmly and make informed decisions to maintain performance., • Attention to Detail & Organization: Accurate record completion and forward planning., • English Language Proficiency: Minimum Level 2; clear spoken and written communication., • Proficient in diverse IT systems: Including SAP, quickly adapting to new technologies, and fluency in Microsoft Office., • Continuous Improvement: Experienced with 5 Whys and RCA to solve problems and drive improvements., • Safety Performance: Team works safely with minimal incidents., • Safety Engagement: Team exceeds safety observation targets., • Production Performance: Targets consistently achieved; efficiency improves, downtime reduces., • Product Quality: High quality with minimal non‑conformances., • Continuous Improvement: Active contribution to efficiency, quality, and waste reduction., • Team Development: Engaged, supported, and improving through feedback and training., • Team Culture and Wellbeing: Positive culture, high morale, strong retention., • Experience: Proven frontline leadership in food manufacturing or FMCG., • Ownership: Takes full responsibility for team output, safety, and quality., • Proactive: Acts early to resolve issues and improve performance., • Organised: Manages time and priorities efficiently within 5S framework., • Resilient: Adaptable under pressure., • Professional & Ethical: Act with integrity, align with company values.
