The Role The Team Leader will provide leadership, coaching and management of a team. The post holder will ensure practice standards are achieved and provide oversight on core DA interventions, integrated Safety Support service, and support the CIFA project. The post holder will also establish, develop, and strengthen working relationships with a variety of partner agencies. The team leader will be required to represent RISE when meeting with external commissioners and key stakeholders. Key responsibilities: Main duties • Deputise for the Service Manager as required, in their absence., • Provide line management supervision, oversight, and support to a team of Practitioners, and Domestic Abuse Safety Advisor’s (DASA) IDVA’s., • Provide oversight of the Integrated Safety Support Service, ensuring DASA IDVA’s are effectively supporting victim/survivors of domestic abuse whilst their (ex) partner is enrolled on the relevant perpetrator program. Ensuring effective communication between Practitioners and DASA IDVA’s, as well as the multi-agency partnership., • Remain up-to-date and compliant with all relevant legislation, specifically in relation to safeguarding children and young people connected to your work, including organisational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct and practice guidance to uphold standards of best practice., • Represent the service at all borough meetings; deliver training and presentations as required., • Act with confidence, integrity and respect when interacting with service users, employees, stakeholders, and individuals., • Competent in defensible decision making, recording and being held accountable, • Show initiative in tackling issues within the service and in relation to other agencies,, • Act as a champion for the implementation and development of the Project., • Take on additional tasks suitable to your skills and experience as required; this role straddles two domestic abuse services, so flexibility is required, • Work to embed the Team Leader role into multi-agency responses to Domestic Abuse., • Seek to maximise multi-agency activity on complex cases, specifically DA and CIFA work; fully utilizing and promoting the Integrated Safety Support Service, with DASA IDVAs and Practitioners keeping victim/survivor voice at the centre., • Creating strong partnership links with local services and advising and guiding other professionals on the project., • Support other professionals in responding to service users in a way that is coterminous with the aims and ethos of the project, • Working closing with other professionals to ensure that risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met., • Represent the service at operational multi-agency meetings, feeding back initiatives and outcomes to the team and contribute to the evaluation of the quality of activities these services offer., • Be flexible and willing to work in all types of environments., • The welfare and safety of children and young people is paramount, considered in every aspect of your work, and taking action to safeguard., • Maintain a proactive approach to working with Practitioners and DASA IDVA’s continuously providing positive options to increasing engagement with education/employment and training and improving health and well-being., • Use a combination of motivational work, relationship building and a broad range of therapeutic skills to engage perpetrators and victim/survivors., • Motivate and support individuals to address the broad range of needs that may contribute to impact of domestic abuse and the risk that they may pose to others e.g., substance use etc., • Engage in direct practice with families including, where appropriate, co-working with other practitioners (delivering groups or 1-2-1 cases up to 7), • Use initiative to make decisions to ensure continuity of service delivery., • Develop excellent relationships with our customers, responding to the needs of their borough or region., • Promote high standards of service delivery and lead on internal audits to ensure the quality assurance framework is adhered to., • Support Facilitators in arranging cover where there is advance warning of absence, • Support the day-to-day delivery of key projects., • Maintain clear records of work undertaken and ensure programme integrity., • Establish and maintain methods to monitor suitability and risk assessments and risk management of cases., • Undertake live monitoring and regular auditing of cases to ensure integrity of delivery, • Ensure quality of programme reports., • Deliver supervision sessions every 6 weeks., • Ensure that cases and records are accurate and complete and are kept and in compliance with Data Protection Act requirements., • To enter all the required information onto the electronic case management, to enable tracking of the young person’s journey, multi-agency working and risk management., • Weekly maintenance and accurate and secure audit trail of all relevant communication., • Liaise and share important information with relevant stakeholders and partners to ensure an integrated approach to performance and risk management., • Liaise with relevant professional agencies involved with the Service User as per data sharing agreements and relevant legislation., • Training, supervision, and learning., • Cover for other posts as appropriate, and willingness to be trained in new interventions. Skills and abilities: Essential • Ability to work under own initiative and problem solve effectively., • Ability to work as part of a team., • Good relationship management regarding multi-agency work that incorporates sensitivity, responsiveness, and attention to the promotion of congruent and effective partnership working., • IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office., • Team leadership, coaching and mentoring skills., • Have excellent interpersonal skills., • Support and guide your service users and have excellent advisory, negotiation & persuasive skills., • Ability to lead and facilitate discussions and reflective practice to achieve positive outcomes., • Reflection and self-awareness., • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to record information effectively and consistently., • Excellent networking skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with other agencies., • Confidence in own decision making and in supporting others to achieve effective outcomes., • Confidence in your ability to contribute independently to team decisions., • An ability to work collaboratively as part of a team; whilst also having the initiative to work independently as necessary., • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)., • A comprehensive understanding of risk and safeguarding., • Be able to work under pressure and deliver confident outcomes., • Capacity to manage raw emotions including conflict, challenge and trauma., • Ability to manage challenging situations and diffuse conflict, • Proactive and self-motivated., • Hold a relevant degree, a vocational qualification or equivalent experience in working with young people, safeguarding, criminal justice field, policing, social care or other field where experience of working with high level need and/or offending can be demonstrated., • Hold an IDVA qualification, • Good level of experience of managing cases, delivering interventions, and writing and presenting information in this context., • Experience of supervising, coaching and leading teams., • Comprehensive experience of multi-agency working and forging successful partnership arrangements, • Direct work with perpetrators, young people, victims, disadvantages groups, and high-level need service users., • Working within a public protection/safeguarding multi-agency setting. Child protection, vulnerable adults, MARAC, MAPPA., • Comprehensive understanding in managing safeguarding issues and procedures and risk management of offenders., • Working within legislative frameworks and using this application to develop, influence and encourage partnership working., • Evidence of keeping reliable and timely reporting and meeting deadlines., • Work with victims and/or young people., • Work with people with mental health and psychological wellbeing needs – diagnosed and undiagnosed mental health issues., • Working with young people with substance misuse needs., • Working with adult and/or young people from culturally diverse backgrounds. Essential • Excellent understanding of domestic abuse, offending behaviour, specifically the impact on children and victims, and the legal and practical remedies available., • Understand public protection arrangements, child protection, the provision of policing, health and social care, and of multi-agency/partnership working., • Good knowledge of effective ways of working/engaging with victims/perpetrators and or offenders, • Thorough understanding of risk assessment, risk management and comprehensive safety planning., • Understand multi-agency partnerships in relation to domestic abuse., • Understanding of the children’s and adults safeguarding procedures., • Hold a keen understanding of staff supervision, performance monitoring and supporting personal development within teams.
