AV Technician (Video Bias) - Immediate start Salary: Up to £30,000 Location: Oxford based + International Travel Contract: Full-time, Permanent Coco Group is partnering with a fast-growing, highly respected live production specialist to recruit an AV Technician with a strong video bias. The Role As an AV Technician, you will play a hands-on role in the planning, build and delivery of complex video-led systems. You will work closely with production teams and clients to ensure seamless integration of video technology from pre-production through to live delivery and breakdown. Key responsibilities include working on the design, setup and operation of video playback and distribution systems, installing and supporting LED walls and projection systems, integrating video signals across live production environments, leading on-site installations, and troubleshooting under pressure during live shows. You will also contribute feedback post-event to help refine systems and support ongoing innovation. Skills & Experience We are keen to speak with candidates who have proven experience working with video systems in live event or production environments. You should have strong technical knowledge of video processing, signal distribution and screen management, alongside hands-on experience with technologies such as NDI, SDI and Dante. Experience working with media servers and live video switchers such as Pixera, Green Hippo, Resolume, vMix or Blackmagic is highly desirable, as is practical experience with LED walls, including rigging, cabling and processor programming (Novastar). A solid understanding of networking, fibre distribution and managed network environments is important, along with strong troubleshooting skills in high-pressure, live settings. Ideally, you will have experience of working across events of varying scale and complexity. Knowledge of lighting and audio, and the confidence to understand and manage all technical aspects of a project, would be an advantage. Rail Systems Deployment & Maintenance Specialist Based Eynsham, Oxfordshire with UK & international travel Our client is seeking a Rail Systems Deployment and Maintenance Specialist to support the deployment, commissioning, and ongoing performance of rail-based survey and data capture systems. This is a hands-on technical role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex equipment, problem-solving in the field, and collaborating across technical and operational teams. You’ll act as a key link between survey/data capture teams and systems/logistics teams, ensuring equipment is fully prepared, tested, and performing at its best—both before deployment and on site. What you’ll be doing Equipment Preparation & Testing • Prepare, configure, and calibrate survey and data capture equipment to project specifications, • Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), documenting results and resolving issues, • Support the planning and execution of system deployments, • Install and mount equipment onto rail platforms and other survey vehicles, • Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and on-site commissioning, • Act as a technical point of contact during installation and commissioning, • Provide on-site support to ensure smooth operation and customer confidence, • Diagnose and resolve equipment faults using structured fault-finding techniques, • Coordinate repairs with suppliers and internal technical teams, • Manage equipment inventory and system configuration records, • Support demobilisation, preventative maintenance, and return logistics Beyond the day-to-day • Create and maintain technical reference materials and system documentation, • Contribute to standard operating procedures and test protocols, • Mentor junior technical staff and share best practices, • Progress your technical capability toward future R&D involvement What we’re looking for Essential • Practical experience with electronic equipment, instrumentation, or technical systems, • Ability to troubleshoot device communications (e.g. RS232/RS422) and Windows networking, • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, • Methodical approach to testing and documentation, • Confident communicator with customer-facing experience, • Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally, • Full UK driving licence Desirable • Experience with survey equipment, sensors, or data acquisition systems, • Familiarity with FAT/SAT processes, • Background in electronics, engineering, or instrumentation, • Rail industry experience or awareness, • Field service, installation, or project/logistics experience, • Ability to work independently for extended periods Working environment • Mix of workshop, office, and field-based work, • Regular travel to client sites, with occasional overnight stays, • Some work on or near operational railway infrastructure (full training provided), • Occasional work outside standard hours to meet project and client needs If you enjoy hands-on technical work, thrive in real-world deployment environments, and want to build specialist expertise in rail infrastructure systems, this role offers strong technical development and long-term progression.
