As an Assessor & IQA, you’ll play a key role in shaping learner success, providing high-quality assessment, guidance, and quality assurance across specialist fire safety programmes. Responsibilities • Support learners through their qualification journey, providing clear, structured, and actionable feedback, • Assess learner work and track progress against programme requirements, • Deliver guidance on assessment processes across both online and classroom settings, • Conduct Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) to ensure consistency, compliance, and high standards, • Mentor and support assessors, promoting best practice and standardisation, • Manage your caseload effectively, meeting deadlines and quality expectations, • Contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment materials and processes, • Identify and address any issues relating to plagiarism or malpractice, • Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to enhance learning quality Qualifications • Level 4 qualification in Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, or relevant experience Skills • Excellent written and verbal communication, • Strong attention to detail, • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, • Proactive and solutions-focused approach, • Strong organisational and time management skills, • Confident stakeholder engagement and relationship-building, • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share knowledge Experience • Experience assessing or supporting learners in a professional or technical environment, • Knowledge of fire safety disciplines such as fire doors or passive fire protection, • Experience delivering structured, constructive feedback, • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel, • Experience conducting fire risk assessments and report writing, • Experience working with regulated qualifications or awarding bodies Blue Eskimo is the leading provider of specialist recruitment for the Learning and Development, e-learning and Training sectors.
