Religious Studies Teacher – South East London Job Title: Religious Studies Teacher (KS3–KS4, potential KS5) Location: South East London Contract Type: part time/full time Pay Range: M1 - M6 (PAYE or Umbrella) ANZUK Education are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in South East London seeking a passionate Religious Studies Teacher to join their Humanities department ASAP. This full-time position offers the chance to deliver engaging RS lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential opportunities to teach KS5 depending on experience. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and/or relevant exam board specifications. Plan, prepare and assess learning to ensure strong progress and attainment across KS3–KS4. Maintain high expectations for student engagement, behaviour and achievement. Promote critical thinking, tolerance, and thoughtful discussion within RS lessons. Support students’ personal, social and ethical development. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain consistency across the Humanities department. Communicate effectively with parents, carers and pastoral staff when required. The Ideal Candidate Will: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Be an ECT or experienced teacher with subject knowledge in Religious Studies or Humanities. Demonstrate strong understanding of world religions, ethics, philosophy and belief systems. Use effective teaching strategies to inspire curiosity and independent thinking. Maintain high expectations for behaviour, progress and classroom culture. Show a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare. Work well within a team and communicate effectively with staff, students and families.
