We are seeking a seasoned Process Engineer and leader to relocate to Kuala Lumpur to provide technical and business leadership to the local team. The role would focus on Front-end engineering studies for the energy industry. This would be on a Local+ package that will include a tax free salary, international schooling support and relocation. Purpose: The Study Manager (Front End) is the leader of the multi-disciplinary Conceptual/ feasibility / Pre-FEED studies and is the main contact on technical and commercial matters and actions related to the study. The Study Manager is responsible for managing the safe and efficient execution of assigned projects or studies, and supports and leads proposals as required. The Study Manager also ensures compliance with project/study contractual obligations, meeting Client and Company safety, quality and technical requirements within the established budget and schedule constraints. Role Responsibility: • Responsible for successful study/project execution and management of change; Responsible for ensuring purchase orders and variation orders are in place to cover all work completed for the Client, • Identification of future opportunities with the current client; Build Client relationships and improve Clients’ understanding of drivers and challenges, • Support Head of Country with Business Development campaigns to grow and diversify our market footprint and Client base, Awareness of competitor’s capabilities, • Responsible for proposal preparation and delivery, • Working with the operational teams (consultants, engineers, and drafter/designer), responsible for ensuring agreed project Gross Profit targets are met on assigned projects/studies, • Deliver projects in compliance with internal and/or Client processes; accountable for the quality of the service, assessed by Client feedback forms., • Responsible for the Project profitability executed as per the proposal, • Collaborates closely with Delivery Manager & Local Resource Planner on mobilization and demobilization requirements to maximize utilization, • Liaise with Local Resource Planner and/or cost controller for forecast updates regarding ongoing projects; Responsible for project monthly reporting, • Provide leadership and Line Reporting to a team of Consultants and Engineers, ensuring strong engagement and motivation of the team, focused on results, • Collaborates closely with P&C teams and Local Resource Planners to ensure a proactive approach to the development and retention of talent within their team, • Global collaboration to ensure continuous improvement and simplification of processes and tools, with a focus on digitalization, • Communicates project deliverables and recommendations are written and oral presentations and technical reports, • Will work in a multidisciplinary study/project environment where communication with other discipline engineers and organizational management is key to success, • In some instances, may be assigned to other engineering projects based on her/his specific competencies and skills., • Supports promoting the team both internally and externally, • Supports cost and schedule estimates for decision support packages Requirements: • Bachelor of Science with a Degree in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering with extensive experience working on Front-end engineering studies for the energy industry, • Good communication and organization skills and working knowledge of Microsoft applications are essential., • Good understanding of various types of offshore fixed and floating production Units, • Experience in CCUS, Green & Blue Hydrogen / Ammonia projects or studies, • Experience in early engagement / feasibility / conceptual studies in the energy industry, • Experience in facilitating concept identification and selection workshops as part of the feasibility studies. What will you be doing: We're looking for a Sustainability Advisor to join our team in Aberdeen, this is a central role in driving the business’s Sustainability Strategy by delivering training, analysing data, and producing reports, while ensuring that project design and construction meet both MGroup Energy and SSEN client sustainability commitments. This role will require some travel so a Full UK driving licence is required. You'll provide guidance on environmental issues such as carbon reduction and social value, collaborate with clients and contractors to embed best practices, and oversee sustainability management across all project stages. Beyond project delivery, you'll support internal teams—such as Bids, Design, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Training—by enhancing procedures, embedding sustainable approaches, and facilitating tailored training. Acting as a mentor and advisor, you'll help project teams and partners understand sustainability risks and responsibilities, while also introducing innovative techniques to improve environmental performance. As part of the wider SHEQ team, you'll ensure compliance with legislation, maintain management processes, and regularly liaise with stakeholders to anticipate risks and implement timely changes that safeguard business continuity. • Ensure any works completed on site meet the clients required specification / MGroup Energy standards of work., • Work with the Environment and Sustainability Manager, within the wider business unit, sector and group to identify, develop, quantify and deliver innovative and sustainable products and services following sustainability targets and commitments including proposing and delivering, if possible, sustainability initiatives for projects including production of business case, where appropriate. Lead a process of change and transformation. Implement cost saving initiatives on site and roll out successful ones across business., • Provide support to projects to ensure understanding, competence, compliance and continuous improvement. Includes carrying out routine site visits, surveys, inspections and internal audits and providing constructive advice and compensatory actions., • Provide all project, and client, team(s) with professional environmental sustainability direction and considered, pragmatic specialist advice, guidance and support in sustainability topics and risks. Provide advice, training, standard controls and mitigation through project tendering, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and construction stages of a project in order to ensure that environmental sustainability is managed proactively, pragmatically and appropriately whilst remaining within regulatory and other compliance framework(s)., • Research, review and gather required information in order to produce mandatory and required project sustainability documentation without oversight including, but not limited to Environmental Management Plans, Carbon Management Plans, Sustainability Action Plans, Toolbox Talks and occasional site walkover surveys., • Review of specialist documentation such as specialist method statements, tender information etc. to provide detailed technical sustainability support to project and bids / ECI team(s) for risk identification, management and mitigation., • Assist Estimator with project management (time) allocation and ensure costs, projected time and programmes are included in the work package. What you'll bring: • Detailed knowledge of environmental sustainability issues and how they relate / impact on business operations., • Good knowledge and understanding of PAS 2080 Carbon Management in Infrastructure and Built Environment or equivalent., • Knowledge and understanding of ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and / or ISO45001., • A recognised Degree (or equivalent transferable qualification e.g. NEBOSH Environmental or equivalent) in Sustainability, Environmental Science or Management of a relevant subject., • Full UK Driving licence - Willingness to travel to various locations across the UK with regular overnight stays.
