A Day in the Life of a Project Engineer If you are on the civil design track, you'll be part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas that highlight and enhance the natural environment. You use programs such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation in order to fulfill production work on your projects. You will manage tasks on projects from concept development, design review, bid package development, permitting, and construction management.
