Job DescriptionJob Title: Logistics Specialist – Picker and Packer Job Description The Logistics Specialist supports the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing, and shipment of marketed products within a cGMP-compliant biotechnology distribution center. This role ensures inventory accuracy, safe material handling, and timely order fulfillment while working with modern warehouse technologies and systems in a highly regulated environment. Responsibilities • Accurately pick and pack marketed products according to shipping orders and established procedures., • Facilitate receive, pick, pack, and ship activities in a cGMP distribution center environment within the biotechnology industry., • Use manual labor, pallet jacks, and powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, walkie riders, and turret trucks to move products and non-GMP supplies between storage areas and delivery trucks., • Perform physical counts of product to maintain accurate inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies., • Conduct functionality and safety checks of material handling equipment, including forklifts and related powered industrial trucks., • Access various databases and business operations systems, including SAP, to input, update, and verify data with a high level of accuracy., • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with cGMP and company safety standards., • Create, collect, and store records in line with corporate retention policies and regulatory requirements., • Participate in department-related project activities, including investigating issues, analyzing data, formulating potential solutions, documenting processes, and communicating results to relevant stakeholders., • Follow detailed verbal and written instructions to complete daily tasks and special assignments., • Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of logistics operations., • Perform other logistics and warehouse-related responsibilities as assigned.Essential Skills, • High school diploma or equivalent., • 5–6 years of industry experience in logistics, warehouse, distribution, or a related field., • Proficiency using powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, walkie riders, and turret trucks., • Experience with picking, packing, packaging, and inventory activities in a warehouse or distribution environment., • Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions accurately and consistently., • Good basic mathematical skills for counting, inventory reconciliation, and order verification., • Proficiency with PC desktop applications and business operations software systems, including SAP., • Ability to use RF scanners or similar devices for inventory and order processing., • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment., • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work successfully in a highly cooperative team environment., • Flexibility to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and different shifts as required., • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant work area in a cGMP environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Life or Physical Sciences preferred., • Extensive inventory management or Bio/Pharma industry experience may substitute for a degree., • Experience working in a cGMP-regulated environment., • Familiarity with construction or facility-related activities in a warehouse or distribution setting is a plus., • Demonstrated ability to investigate issues, analyze data, and contribute to process improvements., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, recordkeeping, and documentation.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a very modern, high-tech distribution facility that operates under cGMP standards. The environment is climate-controlled, including work in refrigerated areas maintained at approximately 39 degrees, so comfort with working in cold storage is important. The position involves working with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, walkie riders, and turret trucks, as well as using RF scanners and PC-based systems including SAP. Team members typically have a 1-hour lunch break and may work varying shifts, with the possibility of overtime, holiday, and weekend hours depending on operational needs. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, and the dress and personal protective equipment requirements are aligned with warehouse, cold-storage, and cGMP best practices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
