Job Description Quality Manufacturing Engineer (Contract) You will collaborate deeply with Hardware Engineering, Prototype Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure that designs can be consistently built to specification with high first-pass yield, dimensional accuracy, and reliability in a low-volume production environment. If you excel in cross-functional collaboration, thrive in fast-moving environments, and are passionate about pushing the limits of power system design, we want to hear from you.What you'll do: • Design Power Electronics: Design of HV and LV systems including: -High-voltage and low-voltage power systems -DC-DC converters, inverters, and motor controllers -Battery, Battery management, power generation, and distribution -Embedded safety and protection mechanisms, • Design across power ranges: Engineer solutions from <1 kW low-power systems to >10 kW high-power applications, • Full-cycle hardware development: Own the entire flow — concept, modeling, worst case analysis, schematic capture, simulation, prototyping, design reiteration for improving design maturity, testing and validation, • PCB ownership: Drive PCB layout and design with ECAD engineers, optimizing for power density, EMI, thermal, and manufacturability, • Design for Safety, Manufacturability and Reliability: Design robust systems keeping in mind best practices for safety, manufacturing and reliability, • Board Bring Up and Testing: Execute board bring up, verification, validation and HALT testing to meet rigorous aerospace reliability standards, • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Mechanical, CAD, Embedded, Software, Production and various aircraft teams throughout the product lifecycle, • Design review leadership: Lead and contribute to cross-functional reviews ensuring robust, high-integrity engineering decisions, • Program execution: Manage project timelines, deliverables, and technical milestones to drive on-time, high-quality outcomesRequired qualifications:, • You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, • You have 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, • You are experienced with: circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, circuit testing, and debugging, • You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others Shield AI is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer. Job Description Maglev is looking for fast-paced enthusiastic, motivated, and collaborative interns who have a drive to learn and will specialize in electrical and aerospace engineering. They will work under the direction of a lead engineer to develop and implement project deliverables. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of electrical, and aerospace engineering projects. Responsibilities: * Design & Implementation: Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of electrical and control system prototypes. * Wiring & Integration: Perform hands-on work with wiring harnesses, component soldering, crimping, and electrical system assembly to ensure robust and clean integration. * System Debugging: Actively participate in the troubleshooting and debugging of complex integrated systems, including hardware, software, and communication failures. * Communication Protocol Work: Work with and debug various communication protocols, such as SPI, I2C, UART (Serial), CAN Bus, or Ethernet, to ensure reliable data transfer between microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators. * Documentation: Maintain clear and thorough technical documentation for all designs, experiments, and testing procedures. Qualifications * Academic Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related technical field. * Hands-On Electrical Skills: Demonstrated experience with electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies). * Microcontroller & Programming: Experience working with common microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, STM32, ESP32). * Basic understanding of classical control theory and experience implementing control algorithms. * Experience in university or competitive engineering teams such as SAE Aero, SAE Auto, Formula SAE, Design Build Fly, AIAA competitions, or similar Bonus: Robotics/Drone Experience: Previous involvement in drone design, building, programming, or participation in robotics competitions is a significant advantage.
