As the Metal Fabrication Department Manager, you will oversee Axiom’s metal shop, staff, and fabrication capabilities while remaining directly involved in day-to-day production. You will be responsible for planning and managing production schedules, assigning work, developing technical instructions, and establishing assembly-specific operating procedures. Working closely with shop management, operations, purchasing, CNC, engineering, and neighboring departments, you will ensure metal parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies are produced accurately, organized efficiently, and delivered to the next work center without delay. Role Responsibilities This role requires strong coordination and planning skills. You will intake and schedule metalwork, attend production kick-offs, and ensure raw materials, welding supplies, consumables, and gases are available to meet production needs. You will monitor your team's performance, equipment usage, drawings and paperwork to ensure procedures are followed, while inspecting cuts, fit-ups, welds, and final details to confirm all work meets project specifications and quality expectations.
