Job DescriptionWhat This Role Is All About Overview & Expectations Makios is a fast-moving Managed Services and Cybersecurity company. We operate real client infrastructure, not labs or sandboxes. This role exists to keep client systems stable, secure, and improving without constant supervision. We expect engineers who can execute, think ahead, and take ownership. Accuracy matters. Speed matters. Documentation matters. You are trusted with production systems and expected to treat them that way. Most work follows established standards and procedures. Sometimes priorities shift quickly and problems do not come with neat instructions. You must be comfortable working independently, communicating clearly, and finishing what you start. If you need step-by-step handholding, avoid accountability, or struggle to manage your own workload, this will be miserable for you. If you take pride in clean execution, professional judgment, and getting things done right the first time, you will fit here. This role is part of the Technical Services Team (TST). AI tools may be used to assist with research or troubleshooting. Final decisions, documentation, and execution are your responsibility. Blind copy-paste solutions are not acceptable. Engineers are expected to understand what they deploy. What You'll Do Key Responsibilities & Tasks • Support, maintain, and improve client server, network, security, and cloud environments, • Troubleshoot Windows Server infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file services, and RDS, • Manage and support Microsoft 365 tenants including email, identity, and migrations, • Support virtualization platforms such as Microsoft Hyper-V and some VMware, • Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points, and VPNs, • Handle escalations professionally and transparently, escalating when appropriate without hiding issues, • Execute infrastructure projects and changes according to defined scope and standards, • Document systems, changes, and procedures clearly and consistently, • Follow security, operational, and documentation standards exactly, • 3+ years of experience in systems administration, MSP support, or infrastructure roles, • Server-level certification required (Microsoft Windows Server or equivalent), • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and core infrastructure services, • Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and permissions, • Foundational networking knowledge including VLANs, routing basics, and VPNs, • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments, • Working knowledge of virtualization platforms, • Strong documentation and organizational habits, • Clear, professional written and verbal communication, • This is an output-driven role.
