Job Description The Senior Risk Analyst and Safety Officer supports HawaiiUSA FCU's enterprise risk management, workplace safety, corporate insurance, business continuity, and incident preparedness programs. The position provides analytical, coordination, and documentation support to strengthen operational resilience, regulatory readiness, and risk oversight. The role serves as the designated Safety Officer (SO) for purposes of workplace safety coordination and regulatory interface. This is a second-line risk and resilience role focused on coordination, tracking, analysis, and reporting, as well as some operational execution tasks. The role will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies and procedures which include general safety management, injury/ illness prevention, emergency management, fire safety, and assist with facility and utility safety in regard to our credit union’s employees and visitors. This position will also be responsible for administering the credit union’s corporate insurance process, which includes filing claims, providing related support, interfacing with related vendors, and assisting with renewals and coverage changes. Position is responsible for interfacing and coordinating with the facilities and disaster recovery departments as needed to ensure safety protocols and mechanisms are in place to address the unique needs of our organization. The safety officer must collaborate with employees across the organization and establish a strong working relationship with any third-party vendors that directly or indirectly impact safety and insurance. The safety officer will also interface with the Human Resources and Administration departments, as they will serve as resources for executing on safety- and OSHA- related items. The safety officer also collaborates with Facilities, Disaster Recovery, Security, and Vendor Management to ensure coordinated risk mitigation. Regular site visits are required in order to conduct and document safety assessments, provide training, interface with safety related authorities, and perform safety related investigations. Key Responsibilities • Enterprise Safety and Physical Risk Support, • Serve as the designated Safety Officer for workplace safety coordination and documentation., • Coordinate and track facility safety inspections using a risk-tiered schedule., • Maintain inspection records, corrective action tracking, and closure documentation., • Support safety drills and exercises by coordinating planning and documenting outcomes., • Assist the HR department in maintaining internal incident and near-miss logs where OSHA recordkeeping exemptions apply., • Coordinate safety-related documentation with Facilities, Security, People Experience, and Vendor Management., • Maintain schedules of insurance policies, endorsements, and limits., • Track claims activity and support loss trend analysis., • Coordinate loss runs and underwriting data requests with brokers and insurers., • Support annual insurance renewal preparation and documentation., • Support maintenance of business continuity plans and templates., • Assist with business impact analysis data collection and updates., • Coordinate business continuity exercises and testing logistics., • Document test results and track remediation actions., • Support regulatory and audit readiness related to continuity planning., • Incident Response and Event Documentation, • Maintain incident response documentation, playbooks, and contact lists., • Support incident coordination activities when directed by leadership., • Document incident timelines, actions, and outcomes., • Update risk registers, issue tracking, and control documentation., • Support preparation of ERM dashboards, metrics, and committee materials., • Assist with policy and procedure maintenance within the ERM function., • Coordinate and support safety, business continuity, and incident response training by maintaining training requirements and completion records, assisting with scheduling and documentation, and tracking follow-up actions from drills or exercises., • Identify and escalate safety and insurance related issues within HawaiiUSA's security system (consisting of alarm system and camera/ recording systems) to the VP of ERM. Minimum Qualifications & Experience • Five to eight years of experience in risk management, business continuity, safety, insurance, compliance, audit, or a related field., • Knowledge of current laws, regulations and current practices in the safety field., • Familiarity with the business continuity, alarm, and other safety related systems that the organization may have at any given time., • Proficient in Ncontinuity Software., • Business (bachelor's degree) or related field preferred., • Experience in financial services, credit unions, or other regulated industries is preferred., • Experience with Federal and Hawaii Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA and HIOSH), disability management, and workers compensation preferred., • Property management or facility related coordination experience preferred (including understanding basics of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, elevators, and other equipment as it may relate to safety.), • CSHO certification preferred. Minimum Physical Requirements: • Sitting for prolonged periods at a desk working on a computer., • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components., • Talking on the phone, computer, and person to person or in meetings frequently., • Frequent on-site engagement with internal stakeholders and vendors., • Traveling to various departments, branches, and off-site locations., • Standing for prolonged periods of time., • Lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying up to 20 pounds on occasion., • Travel to neighbor islands and the mainland as needed., • Moving in construction or renovation job sites on occasion., • We'll make reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants and employees with disabilities. Benefits and Pay The expected pay for the Senior Risk Analyst and Safety Officer position is $70,000 to $85,000 per year. This pay reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role based on typical qualifications and market data. The pay offered may vary depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
