Job Description Job Summary Digital South Communications is looking for a strong IT Support Engineer with MSP experience who can handle real-world environments — Microsoft 365, networks, servers, security, and end-user systems. This is a hands-on role supporting multiple client environments. You’ll be troubleshooting, building, and maintaining IT infrastructure across a wide range of businesses. We’re looking for someone who can think, take ownership, and get things done without hand-holding. If you’ve worked in an MSP and are comfortable jumping between environments, solving problems quickly, and communicating with clients — you’ll fit right in. What You’ll Do • Provide support to clients across desktops, servers, and cloud environments, • Work daily in the helpdesk queue resolving IT issues efficiently and professionally, • Manage and support Microsoft 365 environments (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID/Azure AD), • Administer user accounts, permissions, MFA, and security policies, • Support and troubleshoot Windows servers, Active Directory, and group policy, • Deploy and maintain backup systems (Veeam, Backblaze, Microsoft 365 backups), • Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, and network infrastructure, • Support VPNs, remote access, and endpoint connectivity issues, • Set up and support laptops, desktops, and mobile devices, • Perform onboarding/offboarding, device provisioning, and system setup, • Assist with cybersecurity best practices (endpoint protection, patching, monitoring), • Participate in project work (migrations, upgrades, network rebuilds, cloud transitions), • Document work, environments, and processes in ConnectWise or PSA tools, • 2+ years of experience in an MSP environment (preferred), • Strong experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Azure AD), • Solid understanding of Windows environments (desktops & servers), • Experience with Active Directory, group policy, and user management, • Hands-on experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Backblaze, or similar), • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPNs), • Experience supporting end-user devices (PCs, laptops, printers, mobile), • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices, • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users, • Experience with ConnectWise, Datto, or similar MSP tools, • Experience with VoIP systems (Netsapiens, BroadSoft, Asterisk), • Certifications (Network+, Security+, Microsoft, etc.), • Experience with firewall platforms (Fortinet, SonicWall, etc.), • Basic scripting or automation experience (PowerShell is a plus), • Competitive salary, • Health insurance, • Company-paid life insurance, • 401(k) with company match, • Paid vacation time, • Free lunch every Friday Digital South Communications has been serving businesses since 1991, providing reliable IT, cybersecurity, communications, and modern technology solutions.
