Job Description Logistics & Procurement Specialist (Senior Level) Department: Logistics & Procurement Location: Houston, TX Reports To: Supply Chain Manager / Operations Director Position Summary The Senior Logistics & Procurement Specialist is responsible for owning and managing end-to-end logistics and procurement activities supporting manufacturing, assembly, and project execution. This role requires an experienced professional who can independently manage vendors, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders while ensuring cost control, compliance, and schedule alignment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing or industrial environments, hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), and proven ability to manage complex logistics and procurement activities in a fast-paced, project-driven organization. Key Responsibilities • Own domestic and international logistics operations for equipment, materials, and project-related shipments., • Act as the primary interface with freight forwarders, customs brokers, surveyors, and transportation providers., • Review, verify, and approve all shipping, customs, export, and insurance documentation., • Manage procurement activities for materials, components, and services supporting manufacturing, assembly, testing, and site activities., • Prepare, issue, track, and reconcile purchase orders in the ERP system (NetSuite)., • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with U.S.-based vendors and service providers., • Coordinate export shipments from the U.S. to international destinations, including preparation of all required export documentation., • Ensure packing, loading, and transportation activities comply with safety, quality, and project specifications., • Manage transportation insurance coverage, claims, and damage resolution when required., • Proactively identify logistics and procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies., • Support Project Management and Operations teams with logistics planning, scheduling, and execution., • Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives across logistics and procurement functions. Qualifications Education • 3–7+ years of experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain roles., • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing, assembly, heavy equipment, or industrial project environments., • Experience in the energy, power equipment, or heavy industrial sector is a strong plus. Skills & Competencies • Strong working knowledge of:, • International shipping and Incoterms, • Customs regulations and export documentation, • Freight forwarding and transportation management, • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred)., • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (tracking, reconciliation, reporting)., • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities., • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously., • Strong organizational and time-management skills., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams., • Cultural awareness and ability to work with international teams and suppliers.
