Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Technician / Controls Technician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and repairing manufacturing machinery in a modern, large-scale production facility. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will diagnose issues, interpret technical documentation, and support continuous production by minimizing downtime across motors, engines, conveyor systems, pneumatic tools, and production machines. Responsibilities • Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation., • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on motors, engines, conveyor systems, pneumatic tools, and production machines., • Analyze and maintain plant systems and equipment, identifying potential failures and implementing corrective actions., • Reference and interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, operations manuals, engineering specifications, sketches, and manufacturer instructions to troubleshoot and repair equipment., • Conduct electrical troubleshooting, including work on three-phase power, wiring, field devices, and control components., • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment, using PLC diagnostics to identify faults and support control system reliability., • Perform industrial maintenance tasks such as machine repair, component replacement, and system adjustments to support continuous production., • Inspect and test equipment after repairs or maintenance to verify proper operation and compliance with safety and quality standards., • Support process equipment control troubleshooting and installations to improve equipment performance and uptime., • Diagnose and repair electromechanical systems, including controls, components, and control wiring., • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly, prioritize tasks based on production needs, and document work performed., • Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements., • Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment safely and effectively while following facility safety procedures and guidelines.Essential Skills, • At least two years of maintenance experience in a production or manufacturing environment., • Strong mechanical comprehension and functional understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, and motors., • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems and machine components., • Electrical field device and component troubleshooting and replacement experience., • Proficiency in electrical maintenance, including wiring, three-phase power, and industrial electrical troubleshooting., • Experience performing preventive maintenance, maintenance repair, and machine repair in an industrial setting., • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation., • Experience troubleshooting motors, conveyors, and other production machinery., • Electromechanical troubleshooting skills, including controls, components, and control wiring diagnosis., • Process equipment control knowledge for troubleshooting and installations., • Field service knowledge of devices such as photo eyes, smart eyes, micro switches, encoders, and reed sensors., • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics for industrial equipment., • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment and follow established procedures and guidelines.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • PLC diagnostics and experience preferred for advanced troubleshooting and controls support., • Prior experience in industrial maintenance within high-volume production facilities is beneficial., • Familiarity with baking or food production environments is a plus., • Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical systems in a highly automated facility., • Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting., • Effective communication skills to collaborate with maintenance and production teams., • Willingness to work a rotating 2-2-3 schedule on either day or night shifts as needed.Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled manufacturing and production facility within the baking industry. The environment features large-scale, automated equipment and advanced process control systems that require both mechanical and electrical expertise. Multiple shifts are available, including a 1st shift from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and a 3rd shift from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., operating on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule (two days on, two days off, three days on). Maintenance Technician and Controls Technician positions are available across both day and night shifts. The facility provides the necessary tools and uniforms, and you will work with modern technologies such as PLC-controlled systems, three-phase power, field devices, and automated material handling equipment in a clean, controlled production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
