Job Description General Manager — Fire/Water/Mold & Specialty Cleaning (with Reconstruction) Location: St. Louis, Missouri (on-site) Reports to: Owner/President Direct Reports: Mitigation/Remediation Ops Lead(s), Reconstruction PM(s), Estimators, Field Supervisors, Office/Admin, Business Development About the Role You’ll own the P&L and day-to-day operations of a full-service restoration company covering fire, water, mold, specialty cleaning, and reconstruction. Your mandate: grow profitable revenue, deliver best-in-class customer experience, and build a high-performing, safety-first team. Key Responsibilities • P&L Ownership: Build annual budgets/forecasts; manage branch profit, cash flow, and job costing; drive gross margin and overhead efficiency., • Operations Management: Oversee intake, triage, scheduling, equipment/materials, fleet, and 24/7 on-call rotation; ensure fast, high-quality response on emergency losses., • Reconstruction Delivery: Lead estimating, subcontractor management, permits/inspections, and schedule control through punch-out/CO., • Quality & Compliance: Enforce IICRC standards, SOPs, moisture mapping, documentation, and chain of custody; maintain licensing and OSHA/safety compliance., • People Leadership: Recruit, onboard, coach, and performance-manage field and office teams; develop next-level leaders; drive culture aligned with core values., • Customer/Carrier Relations: Maintain relationships with TPAs, adjusters, property managers, commercial accounts; handle escalations and ensure top-tier NPS., • Sales Enablement: Partner with BD on local market strategy, pricing, win rates, and key account retention; approve estimates and change orders., • Risk & Safety: Lead safety meetings, incident reviews, and corrective actions; champion vehicle/fleet and site safety., • Revenue growth and job cycle time, • Gross margin (mitigation & reconstruction) and on-budget delivery, • AR days and cash conversion cycle, • Customer satisfaction/NPS and TPA scorecards, • Safety: TRIR, near-miss reporting, and corrective action completion, • 5–8+ years in restoration, construction, facilities, or trades; 2–3+ years leading a P&L or multi-team operation., • Working knowledge of IICRC standards; Xactimate proficiency for reading/approving scopes (Level 2+ preferred)., • Proven track record improving margins, reducing cycle times, and scaling teams., • Strong subcontractor management and municipal permitting experience., • Availability for after-hours events during peak seasons/on-call rotation., • IICRC WRT/ASD/FSRT/AMRT, GC experience, OSHA 30, Lean/continuous improvement exposure., • Mix of office, warehouse, and active job sites; occasional work in confined or high-humidity environments with appropriate PPE., • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs periodically; frequent standing/walking/driving between sites. Pay Structure: Salary + Performance Bonus + Allowances/Benefits • Base Salary: $85,000 – $115,000 DOE., • Annual Bonus: 15% – 35% of base, tied to branch EBITDA, gross margin, AR days, safety, and NPS (clear scorecard provided quarterly)., • Vehicle Program: Company vehicle., • Phone/Laptop: Company-provided, • Benefits: Medical/dental/vision, Simple IRA with match, PTO, paid holidays, paid training/certifications (IICRC, OSHA), safety gear.
