Job Description eliminating racism empowering women YWCA Lancaster YWCA Lancaster is looking for a full-time Communications and Community Outreach Manager, who is an integral part of our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, developing, and managing all outward-facing communications for the agency in a way that centers our mission and aligns with YWCA USA brand requirements. What your day looks like: • Messaging Strategy:, • Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer/CEO to develop and refine the agency's overall messaging strategy., • Ensure that all communications align with the agency’s mission and objectives., • Conducts market research to establish the appropriate marketing mix in addition to tracking/reporting results of campaigns and related initiatives. Works with a variety of community constituents to develop effective internal communication materials and strategies., • Social Media Management:, • Lead the agency’s social media content creation and management. (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), • Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance engagement and brand awareness., • Content Creation and Development:, • Create and develop graphics, flyers, website pages, and email blasts that meet the needs of the agency., • Develop consistent and compelling outward-facing communications for the agency., • Event Execution:, • Assist in the planning and execution of major annual events, including Race Against Racism, Women of Achievement, and ExtraGive including marketing, advertising, coordination with vendors and script development with CEO., • Strategic Oversight:, • Provide strategic oversight and planning for the communications department in a way that is responsive to the agency goals and program specific needs., • Coordinate with agency departments/programs/initiatives to maintain consistent messaging and support their recruitment, educational and outreach goals., • Produce metrics as needed for websites, eblasts, social media to document impact, • Media Outreach:, • Develop and manage media relationships and outreach efforts., • Manage incoming media questions as directed by CEO., • External Communications:, • Develop and distribute monthly e-blasts to keep stakeholders informed and engaged., • Ensure all external communications reflect the agency’s voice and values and reach various constituencies across Lancaster County., • Special Projects:, • Lead special internal projects, such as creating Safety Awareness videos or building signage., • Coordinate capital campaign messaging and strategy for YForward., • Program Coordination:, • Update and maintain the Racial Equity Profile and its website., • Supervises the Communications and Community Outreach Specialist and may also supervise freelance staff and interns., • Participate in the planning and execution of agency events. Participates in leadership meetings and other committees as assigned., • Adheres to YWCA policies and procedures., • Performs other duties as assigned. Who you are: • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field or equivalent experience., • Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications role, with proven expertise in strategic planning and social media management., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time well., • Proficiency in graphic design, web content management, and email marketing tools., • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage internal and external relationships effectively., • Commitment to YWCA Lancaster mission required. Work Environment and/or Physical Demands: • This is a largely sedentary role., • Ability to perform the essentials job functions consistently, safely, and successfully., • Physical ability to use a computer, access files, use other standard office equipment, and assist at special events., • Must be able to lift and carry to up 25lbs., • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • The position also requires the ability to input data into a computer and use a telephone and a calculator., • This position also requires the ability to coordinate and attend events., • Travel is required; must have reliable transportation.
