Systems include and are not limited to:, • Transportation, • Food Services, • Facilities, • Nursing, • Time Off Management, • Coverage and Guest Teachers, • Staff Duties, • Campus Schedule, • Audits and adjusts key operational systems to ensure routine effectiveness, • Ensure the front office runs safely and effectively, • Maintain positive and productive relationships with key stakeholders including Denver Public Schools partners and outside providers or vendors, • Meet as needed with DPS providers such as Facilities Manager, Kitchen Manager and Nurse, • Maintains project plans for all events and operational projects to ensure the operations team is working 4-6 weeks out in alignment with campus arc of the year, • Align with the Principal on project and event vision, scope and outcomes, • Manage Dean of Operations to ensure deadlines for all events and projects are met, • Lead project management for larger scope work such as enrollment, standardized testing and annual planning, • Develop systems to ensure compliance on all safety systems and emergency operations plans, • Serve as the lead of the school Emergency Team, • Ensure campus meets drill requirements according to deadlines and drill criteria, • Ensure accurate documentation for 100% of health needs and medications with the DPS provided nurse, • Serve as the budget manager (Principal is owner) for the campus and align with the Principal on all budget decisions, • Manage and monitor campus purchasing system in alignment with KIPP Colorado Fiscal policies, • Meet all required purchasing approvals and fiscal policies, • Manage and monitor weekly credit card, bank deposit and invoice reconciliation, • Develop and implement campus communication systems in alignment with the Principal, • Ensure family communication is consistent, clear and customer service oriented, • Ensures campus calendars are accurate, updated and available to staff and families, • Drive results to meet 100% enrollment by the first day of school and through October Count, • Own and drive all campus student enrollment and recruitment efforts in alignment with the Director of Regional Operations and Denver Public Schools, • Manage and monitor attendance data from the Operations team, • Understand and manage Infinite Campus systems for all operational tasks, • Ensure 100% of students are accurately rosters and schedules in Infinite Campus, • Ensure that annual deadlines for scheduling and student information systems are met, • Support KIPP Colorado Tech team systems for student devices, • Manage and coach Campus Operations team (Dean of Operations, Operations Coordinator etc), • Serve as an active member of the campus leadership team, • Support leadership team priorities and decisions, • Own and drive operational results for the campus, • Drive operational training and professional development for campus inclusive of leadership team, • Participate in active presence and strategic supervision and monitoring to ensure student safety and engagement in rigorous learning, • Enforce positive behavior systems, • Attend designated school functions outside of school hours (Back to School Night, Report Card Conferences, Community Events, etc.), • Perform necessary support duties including (but not limited to) bus, lunch, and dismissal duties, chaperone field trips, • Participate in parent meetings, conferences, and periodic evening events, • Develop strong relationships with the families of students through home visits, participation in school events and phone calls home, • Participate in daily duties (i.e. breakfast, lunch, dismissal) to support school operations, • For more about how you’ll lead at this level, please visit the KIPP Colorado Role Levels Matrix (this is an internal document, only) About a Successful Candidate About the skills and qualifications you will bring to this role: • Bachelor's degree (required), • Spanish bilingual (preferred), • At least 5-7 years of relevant and aligned experience (required), • At least 4 years of K-12 teaching experience and/or a strong record of helping underserved students achieve academic success (required), • Past experience (2 years) of leading adults in a school environment (assistant principal, instructional coach, grade level chair, etc) (required), • A full understanding and Commitment to an Exceptional Student Experience (more about that HERE) (required), • Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail; REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President, Conservation Programs NUMBER OF DIRECT REPORT(S): 6 direct LAST REVISED: April 2026 POSITION SUMMARY The Vice President for Species Conservation and Coexistence directs Defenders’ regional and field work to conserve priority species and advance national policy priorities, including those pertaining to wildlife-human coexistence. The Vice President ensures effective on the ground implementation of priority species conservation plans and related imperiled wildlife conservation programs and campaigns. These plans and programs involve a wide range of policy, legal, advocacy and scientific strategies to conserve wildlife. Priority areas include protecting and restoring threatened and endangered species; promoting coexistence efforts to reduce human-wildlife conflicts; influencing federal, state and tribal administrative and legislative initiatives impacting wildlife, habitat, and other natural resources; working on federal, state and tribal land management issues impacting sensitive wildlife species; maintaining and enhancing the ecological integrity of priority wildlife habitat; reforming state wildlife agencies and commissions; promoting environmentally responsible renewable energy development; and maintaining and enhancing the conservation of biodiversity in general. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Works closely with the President & CEO, Senior Vice President for Conservation Programs, and other members of Defenders’ senior leadership, to provide leadership direction on matters involving Defenders’ organization, programs and culture., • Provides leadership and supervision for our species conservation and coexistence work. Working with Field Directors and conservation program vice presidents, prioritize and develop short- and long-range strategic plan objectives, organizational structure, and department staffing and budget requirements., • In consultation with Defenders’ leadership and other departments, develops wildlife conservation policy positions for imperiled species to achieve Defenders’ strategic goals and priorities., • Oversees Defenders’ wildlife conservation and coexistence programs to provide for the long-term conservation of imperiled species and other wildlife., • Works with federal agencies, Congress, state agencies, tribes, private landowners, and non-governmental organizations to develop and implement national policies that promote human-wildlife coexistence strategies., • Directs, coordinates, and/or assists Defenders’ advocacy efforts to influence legislation, regulatory processes, agency policies, and land management plans that affect imperiled species and/or involve issues that span multiple regions., • Represents Defenders in public meetings, hearings, press events, conferences, coalitions, and in general communications with public officials, legislators, the news media, Defenders’ membership, the donor community, and the public., • Develops and effectively manages the annual budgets for all of the Field program regions (both restricted and unrestricted funding)., • Works with the Development and Marketing departments to raise funds for species conservation and coexistence programs., • Ensures optimum performance for individuals and group function.
