This role owns account performance through strategic planning, relationship management, forecasting, merchandising, and cross-functional coordination, while aligning Wagner’s priorities with The Home Depot’s enterprise initiatives. Key Outcomes of the Role: • Deliver annual net sales, margin, and share growth targets, • Strengthen executive and merchant-level relationships, • Refine assortment, merchandising, and promotional effectiveness, • Improve forecast accuracy, in-stock performance, and supply chain efficiency, • Find and execute growth opportunities across omnichannel platforms Core Accountabilities Account Strategy & Planning • Develop and execute annual and multi-year Joint Business Plans that deliver YOY sales and margin growth for both Wagner and The Home Depot., • Align account strategy with category trends, shopper insights, and retailer priorities Sales, Forecasting & Financial Management • Collaborate with analyst team on monthly forecasting, demand planning collaboration, and performance reviews using POS, inventory, and sell-through data., • Analyze account profitability and find actions to improve mix, margin, and ROI., • Manage promotional planning and cost centers within approved financial guardrails. Omnichannel Merchandising & Execution • Lead in-store and digital merchandising execution, including planograms, end caps, content optimization, and online shelf performance., • Coordinate new item launches, resets, and line reviews to ensure on-time, on-spec execution., • Partner with internal and external teams to ensure consistent brand presentation across physical and digital touchpoints. Customer Relationship Management • Build and support strong working relationships across merchant, replenishment, supply chain, marketing, and digital teams at The Home Depot., • Function as the primary escalation point for account issues and ensure prompt resolution., • Lead annual negotiations on customer terms, programs, and agreements. Cross-Functional Leadership • Serve as the internal account quarterback, providing clear direction to sales operations, marketing, supply chain, finance, and product teams., • Translate customer needs into actionable internal priorities and execution plans., • Coordinate store, regional, and national customer events as needed. Insights & Continuous Improvement • Leverage data, analytics, and forecasting tools to show risks and opportunities., • Champion process improvements that enhance service levels, speed, and efficiency. Relationships with Others • Daily collaboration with The Home Depot merchant and merchandising teams., • Frequent interaction with internal sales operations, marketing, demand planning, supply chain, finance, and product development teams. Dimensions of the Position • Responsible for managing confidential company and customer information, including financial, pricing strategies, and product road maps. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Education • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field needed., • MBA preferred Experience • 8+ years of progressive national account or key account management experience, • Experience managing big-box or home improvement retailers strongly preferred., • Proven success managing complex accounts with P&L responsibility. Skills • Strong financial acumen with deep understanding of pricing, margin, and trade spending., • Advanced analytical and forecasting skills; experience with POS and demand planning tools, • Expertise in omnichannel retail and digital shelf execution, • Executive-level communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, • Ability to influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization., • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and account analytics tools Working Conditions Work is performed in a standard office environment which requires occasionally lifting articles such as file boxes or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. A job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with long periods of computer work and phone usage. This position is hybrid with average 2 days a week in the Plymouth office.
