Residential Childcare Practitioner Cambridgeshire Starting from £26,514 per annum (£12.74ph) Permanent | Full-Time (40 hours per week) About the Role We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for multiple permanent Residential Childcare Practitioner opportunities based in Cambridgeshire. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people in a residential care setting, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and emotional resilience needed to move positively into adulthood. As part of a dedicated care team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding children and providing high-quality care, support, and guidance within a nurturing and safe home environment. The role operates on a rolling rota basis and includes weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-in duties. Key Responsibilities • Provide high standards of care, protection, and emotional support to children and young people, • Safeguard children from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation, • Build positive and constructive relationships with young people through effective role modelling, • Support children with education, activities, routines, and life skills development, • Act as a Key Worker, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, • Participate in care planning, risk assessments, reviews, and planning meetings, • Support children with emotional regulation and restorative practice approaches, • Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals, • Maintain the home to a high standard and contribute positively to team culture, • Work flexibly across homes where required to support service needs, • Undertake sleep-ins and lead shifts when necessary Essential Requirements ✅ NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent transferable qualification (mandatory) ✅ Full UK Driving Licence What We’re Looking For We are seeking caring, committed, and resilient individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives.
