Job DescriptionPrimary Job Title: Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative - 1st Shift Alternate/Related Job Titles: • Certified Phlebotomy Technician, • Patient Services Specialist, • Position Type: Contract, • Contract Duration: Approximately 4 months, • Start: As Soon As Possible, • Shift/Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (Day Shift, Central Time)Job SummaryThe Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) serves as the front-line contact for patients visiting the organization’s diagnostic centers. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory analysis, and ensuring the comfort, trust, and safety of patients throughout the process. The PSR II demonstrates leadership, accuracy, and professionalism while following strict confidentiality and procedural standards.Key Responsibilities, • Perform all specimen collection and processing duties accurately and on schedule under the supervision of the area lead., • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional environment at all collection sites., • Confidently execute both forensic and clinical specimen collections according to established protocols., • Verify patient identification and ensure proper labeling, obtaining patient signatures post-venipuncture for accuracy confirmation., • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all procedures and patient data., • Uphold company policies, safety guidelines, and patient confidentiality at all times., • Demonstrate superior customer focus, clear communication, and adaptability., • Travel or float between locations as needed, including short-notice assignments.Required Experience, • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections., • Proven ability to deliver accurate, error-free work in a high-volume environment., • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Nice-to-Have Experience, • At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center or related environment., • Customer service experience in retail or healthcare settings., • Keyboard and data entry proficiency.Required Skills, • Phlebotomy (pediatric and geriatric expertise), • Accuracy and attention to detail, • Strong communication and patient service skillsPreferred Skills, • Medical assistant or paramedic training, • Phlebotomy certification (mandatory in CA, NV, WA; preferred elsewhere), • Flexibility for weekend, holiday, or on-call coverageAdditional Skills, • Organizational commitment and confidentiality, • Time management and multitasking, • Adaptability in changing work environmentsEducation, • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred, • Phlebotomy certification preferredBenefits, • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans, • 401k Retirement FundAbout the ClientA leading provider of diagnostic information services dedicated to empowering healthier lives through advanced laboratory testing, disease identification, and healthcare analytics.
