Job DescriptionDescription: The Chief Academic Officer (CAO) partners with all ECA stakeholders to achieve and maintain academic excellence and mission achievement throughout Eden’s programs. They ensure that ECA’s values and policies drive decision-making and implementation, including Biblical integration into all aspects of the Eden experience. The CAO leads, supervises, and evaluates the Academic Leadership Team (ALT). They are actively involved in directing cross-divisional and cross-campus staff and programs, including working closely with the Director of Student Leadership, the Director of Spiritual Formation, and the Discovery program administrator. The CAO reports directly to the President and is an active member of the school’s Executive Leadership team. This is a full-time position, primarily a Monday-Friday role, although the incumbent must be able to work evenings or weekends, as needed. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Consistently utilize and support highly effective communication and interpersonal skills anchored in Christian faith and scriptural principles., • Provide pre-school Age 3 through Grade 12 leadership in monitoring, designing, implementing, and regularly reviewing curriculum., • Guide development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional services, staff, and programs., • Facilitate the selection and purchase of appropriate curriculum resources., • Utilize an organizational structure that involves teachers, administration, Board, and community members to ensure a horizontally and vertically aligned curriculum in line with ECA’s mission and values., • Collaborate with Principals and Faculty in collecting, analyzing, distributing, and utilizing standardized testing data., • Oversee all accreditation activities with both ACSI and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, which includes annual reporting and re-accreditation visits., • With the ALT, target and provide effective professional development, including curating and distributing regular updates on effective instructional practices, authentic Biblical integration, and evolving technology and resource best practices., • Collaboratively maintain and implement an instructional technology plan that includes appropriate technology recommendations, grade-level and subject-appropriate classroom technology integration, and proactively deals with emerging opportunities and challenges (for example, AI and next-gen devices)., • Assist in the recruitment, screening, hiring, training, and assigning of instructional personnel., • Assist in the evaluation and monitoring of educational staff, including direct involvement in goal setting and growth plans., • Coordinate and schedule professional development training for staff on scheduled days through out the year., • Along with Principals and HR, execute the school-wide induction program for new teachers, including ongoing mentoring and follow-up support., • Coordinate all learning support programs at ECA, including, but not limited to, the Discovery Program., • Coordinate all dual enrollment partnerships with colleges and universities., • Coordinate the review and development of Advanced Placement courses., • Coordinate all College in High School programs with colleges and universities., • Maintain a high level of personal academic and professional development, including ongoing research and training in current best practices and establishing connections with educators, scholars, consultants, and trainers., • Work closely with Operations Officer to develop budgets for various curriculums and programs, • Work with Upper School Principal and Administration to establish plans for course growth, college in high school classes, and diplomas of distinction. Execute these plans on a multi-year timeline., • Provide communication to the President and the full School Board of Directors as requested., • Other duties as assignedRequirements: Eden Qualifications • Have a mature relationship with Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior and be active in an evangelical church., • Be a Christ-like model for students in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40), • Be supportive of the school's mission and doctrinal statements., • Master’s Degree in Education and or significant experience in administration and education with an understanding of the nature and needs of students in both upper and elementary years., • Significant experience in administration or school leadership., • ACSI certification or willingness to obtain and maintain., • Basic personal computer skills (Gmail, Word, Excel Spreadsheets, Presentations, Canva)., • Understanding of the philosophy of Christian education., • Ability to work with others and generate leadership for the faculty and students., • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times., • Move about classrooms and hallways and supervise students., • Physically accompany students in the hallways or in other places in the buildings as the students move from one location to another location on the premises., • Have sufficient vision to allow for active supervision and interaction with students., • Have the ability to quickly summon help when an emergency arises either in the classroom, gymnasium or on the playground., • Climb the stairs to reach the classrooms/offices on higher floors at all campuses.
