We are seeking a Special Needs Classroom Assistant to join our dedicated education team. About the Role As a Special Needs Classroom Assistant, you will work closely with special educators and therapists to support students in both their learning and daily care. You will provide one-on-one and small-group support, assist with classroom activities, and help students with personal care needs in a respectful, nurturing environment. This position is hands-on, active, and deeply rewarding. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) background is a plus but not required. What You’ll Do • Support classroom instruction and help implement lesson plans and goals, • Provide one-on-one and small group behavioral and instructional support, • Assist students with daily living needs including toileting, feeding, hygiene, and mobility, • Help create a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment, • Participate in program activities including CPR and First Aid training, • Support transportation needs, including riding on bus routes and driving agency vehicles as scheduled, • Assist with snack and meal times, including preparation and clean-up, • Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports, • Uphold confidentiality and follow all organizational policies and procedures, • Contribute to extended day programming by helping plan engaging daily activities, • High school diploma or GED, • Experience working with children and/or individuals with developmental disabilities preferred, • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently when needed, • Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to student care, • Ability to pass background checks and meet a drug-free workplace requirement, • Make a real, lasting impact in the lives of children and families, • Work in a supportive, mission-driven environment, • Be part of a team that values kindness, respect, and collaboration
