Job Description Summary: Receives and stores raw materials. Picks, packs and prepares orders for shipment. Shift: 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: • Prepares parcels for mailing., • Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from storage to shipping area, • Assists with quarterly cycle counts., • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against orders or other records., • Determines method of shipment., • Affixes shipping labels on packed contains or stencils identifying shipping information on containers., • Assembles containers or selects pre-assembled containers., • Inserts items into containers., • Stamps, stencils or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers., • Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage (if applicable)., • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies., • Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from storage to shipping area. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs., • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations., • Computer Skills - Some computer skills. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations In addition to a high school diploma or GED certificate, must be fork truck certified.
