Job DescriptionJob Title: 2nd Shift Quality Inspector Job Description The 2nd Shift Quality Inspector plays a key role in ensuring that products consistently meet stringent quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. This position focuses on conducting thorough inspections and audits, analyzing data to identify trends and issues, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. The role requires strong technical skills in quality control and assurance, careful attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders across the organization. Responsibilities • Conduct detailed audits and inspections of products and processes to identify, document, and address quality issues., • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, development, and operations, to ensure quality is maintained throughout the entire product lifecycle., • Communicate quality issues, inspection results, and corrective actions clearly and effectively to production personnel, quality management, and other stakeholders., • Participate in meetings and presentations to share quality-related information, updates, and recommendations for improvement., • Apply quality assurance and quality control tools and techniques to proactively prevent defects and maintain consistent product standards., • Manage Material Review Board (MRB) meetings, including evaluating nonconforming materials and coordinating disposition decisions., • Review equipment calibration, validation, and maintenance records to confirm that activities are completed correctly and on schedule., • Perform comprehensive quality inspections on finished products and in-process components to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications., • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances., • Interpret blueprints and technical documentation to ensure products meet design and regulatory requirements., • Maintain clear, accurate, and timely records of inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions., • Analyze inspection and production data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for quality improvement., • Support production teams by providing feedback on quality concerns and assisting in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions., • Ensure adherence to industry quality standards, regulations, and internal quality procedures during all inspection and audit activities., • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to inspection processes, documentation, and quality systems.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment., • Extensive experience in quality control, including identifying and correcting defects in finished products through inspections and testing., • Strong background in quality assurance, with experience maintaining proactive processes aimed at preventing defects by managing the entire production process., • Solid experience in quality inspection, ensuring products or services consistently meet established quality standards., • Strong understanding of quality inspection methods and best practices within manufacturing processes., • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges., • Excellent visual acuity and the ability to detect even minor defects and inconsistencies., • Familiarity with relevant industry quality standards and regulations., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately., • Ability to interpret data and identify trends to inform quality improvement initiatives., • Clear and accurate record-keeping skills for documenting inspection results and quality findings., • Effective communication skills for working with production personnel, quality management, and other stakeholders., • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to influence and support quality initiatives across teams.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment focused on quality checks and continuous improvement., • Comfort with participating in cross-functional meetings and presentations to discuss quality performance and improvement plans., • Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control tools and techniques used in modern manufacturing., • Ability to manage and contribute to Material Review Board (MRB) activities., • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspections and documentation., • Ability to work independently on 2nd shift while maintaining consistent communication with day shift and other stakeholders., • Capability to balance multiple inspection tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a modern, air-conditioned manufacturing facility equipped with state-of-the-art industry 4.0 technology. The position operates on 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., with a 10% shift differential, and requires training on first shift prior to transitioning. There is currently mandatory overtime on Fridays to meet production deadlines. The work involves standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as needed, climbing portable ladders, and lifting or moving up to 35 pounds. The role requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to handle precision measuring tools and inspection equipment. Personal Protective Equipment is required in accordance with facility safety standards, and employees work in a structured manufacturing environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
