Job Description NOW HIRING!!! MATERIAL HANDLER-$25/HR. Job Description The Material Handler supports warehouse operations by managing the receipt, verification, system entry, and physical movement of inventory and non-inventory items. This role splits time between processing orders and completing tasks using a computer, ensuring accurate documentation, timely material flow, and effective coordination with internal work centers and external partners. Working under direct supervision, the Material Handler helps maintain inventory accuracy, supports shipping and sales order processes, and transports materials to other facilities as needed. Responsibilities • Receive and count all incoming inventory and non-inventory items accurately., • Audit incoming receipts to verify quantities, part numbers, and documentation against purchase orders and shipping documents., • Conduct weekly cycle counts of inventory to maintain accurate stock levels., • Log and process all receipts using the appropriate computer systems., • Expedite line-down parts to the appropriate work centers to minimize production downtime., • Coordinate with work cells to identify and resolve discrepant receipts and inventory issues., • File and maintain documentation in accordance with department procedures and record-keeping standards., • Coordinate activities related to sales order release, shipment consolidation, ship/confirm processes, CKM sales order processes, and back-order management., • Process offline shipments using an online shipment tracking system., • Process procurement sales orders for shipment to suppliers and customers., • Pick and pack materials accurately for internal and external orders., • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move, load, and unload materials safely., • Use hand and power tools, such as impact wrenches, drills, and hammers, when required for material handling tasks., • Unload trucks using a forklift and pallet jack, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials., • Work with computer systems to manage warehouse shipping, inventory transactions, and related documentation., • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues and support customer needs., • Adhere to all safety, professional, and ethical standards while performing daily tasks., • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and logistics operations. Essential Skills • Experience with picking, packing, and general material handling in a warehouse environment., • Ability to safely operate a forklift and pallet jack to load, unload, and move materials., • Proficiency in using computer systems for order processing, inventory logging, and shipment tracking., • Strong English written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to translate and interpret data and information accurately., • Capability to statistically analyze data and effectively report problems using written and graphical formats., • Excellent customer service skills with a strong understanding of building and maintaining customer relationships., • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic email systems., • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment., • Capacity to read and interpret data, information, and documents accurately., • Ability to observe and respond appropriately to people and situations encountered during work., • Willingness and ability to learn and apply new information, processes, and skills., • Ability to work safely with hand and power tools, including impact wrenches, drills, and hammers. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in warehouse shipping and inventory control is highly beneficial., • Comfort working both independently under direct supervision and collaboratively with cross-functional teams., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, documentation, and inventory handling., • Demonstrated commitment to working in a safe, professional, and ethical manner., • Flexibility to work overtime on occasion based on business needs., • Ability to travel occasionally if required by business needs. Work Environment This role is based in a warehouse environment with a generally moderate temperature and noise level. The standard schedule is on the 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., usually Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed. The position involves a combination of physical activity and computer-based work, including periods at a computer terminal interspersed with meetings, phone calls, and other communications. Physical demands include routinely sitting, walking, talking, hearing, and using hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, and stretching. The role occasionally requires moving around the campus, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, and unloading trucks via forklift and pallet jack. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees use material handling equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand and power tools such as impact wrenches, drills, and hammers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
