Position Summary: The Technical Quality Project Engineer serves as the program-level owner of engineering change (ECO) and rework execution, responsible for architecting and managing end-to-end project lifecycles across multiple concurrent initiatives. This role acts as the primary first point of contact (initial response window owner) for both internal stakeholders and external customers, ensuring timely intake, technical triage, and structured escalation of rework-related issues. A critical component of this role is the prioritization and sequencing of rework projects using risk-based frameworks that account for customer impact, technical severity, system criticality, and resource constraints. The engineer applies advanced project planning methodologies, data-driven prioritization models, and execution strategies to optimize resource allocation and accelerate resolution of high-impact field issues. Acting as a cross-functional integration lead, the engineer synchronizes Field Service, Supply Chain, Quality, and third-party partners through structured governance, ensuring rapid response, schedule adherence, cost control, and technical compliance across all phases of project execution. Responsibilities: Program & Project Planning • Prioritize and master planning on rework projects, • Perform materials planning and resource allocation modeling across field teams, vendors, and materials., • Demonstrate strong technical expertise to clearly communicate and explain rework scope, requirements, and solutions to customers., • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support to both service vendors and customers, ensuring effective issue resolution in the field., • Own the full lifecycle of engineering change orders (ECO/ECR) including validation, rollout strategy, and field execution., • Track rework project status and update to management., • Implement dashboard-driven tracking systems (e.g., Airtable, Excel models) for real-time visibility into:, • Project status, • Resource utilization, • Work closely with dispatch teammates on scheduling., • Coordinate with Procurement on supply availability, lead times, and logistics constraints., • Serve as the primary point of contact and intake window for all rework-related cases across internal and external stakeholders., • Act as the first responder for customer-facing rework projects, leading initial communications via phone, email, and conference calls to ensure timely triage and alignment., • Deliver executive-level reporting on project health, KPIs, and risk exposure., • Serve as the technical escalation point for customers and internal stakeholders., • Facilitate cross-functional alignment meetings and decision-making forums. Skills and Abilities: • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in the PV industry, engineering, field service, or technical customer support environments; solar/PV experience strongly preferred., • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience., • Project Management: Strong project management capabilities, including project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution tracking across multiple concurrent initiatives., • Technical Expertise: Solid technical problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve field and operational issues effectively., • Customer & Technical Support: Proven ability to deliver high-quality technical support with a customer-focused, service-driven mindset for both internal and external stakeholders., • Ownership & Initiative: Self-starter with a high degree of accountability, ownership, and proactive decision-making in fast-paced environments., • Organization & Multitasking: Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously., • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences., • Collaboration: Strong ability to work cross-functionally and drive alignment across Engineering, Field Service, Procurement, Quality, and external partners., • Tools & Systems: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with Airtable or similar project tracking tools is a plus., • Certifications: PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus., • Time Management: Strong time management, prioritization, and follow-through skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and shift priorities., • Language: Fluent in English, Mandarin is a plus, • Contract role, • Role based in Texas For candidates in the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington, the anticipated annual base salary for this role is between $75,000 to $105,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The base salary offered is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, location, or other factors related to the role.
