JOB DESCRIPTION: Job Title: Project Scheduler [Exempt] Job Location: Doha, Qatar American International Contractors (Special Projects), Inc. (AICI-SP) is seeking a meticulous and proactive Project Scheduler with expertise in Primavera P6 software to join our U.S. Embassy project management team in Doha, Qatar. This person will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, tracking progress against baselines, and providing insightful analysis to project teams and management to ensure timely project delivery An active U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance is a requirement for this position. PRIMARY FUNCTION: A Primavera-trained Project Scheduler with construction and OCONUS experience is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6 to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for the overall cost control tracking of the project (time, labor, material, equipment, etc.), • Responsible for the maintenance of the required schedules and related documents in compliance with client provisions or as requested by the Project Director/COR (this includes maintaining the original cost-loaded base line for the duration of the project), • Schedule Development & Maintenance:, • Develop, update, and maintain detailed, resource-loaded project schedules (baselines, progress updates, forecasts) using Primavera P6 software for assigned projects., • Collaboration:, • Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements, define activities, durations, and dependencies, and ensure alignment across all project aspects., • Meet with OBO Scheduler at the project site after coordinated schedule development to refine and finalize the BPES for presentation to OBO and contractor management teams., • Progress Monitoring & Analysis:, • Monitor project progress and performance daily/weekly, identify critical paths, milestones, and potential delays or constraints., • Risk Management:, • Analyze schedule variances, identify root causes of delays, and recommend corrective actions or "what-if" scenarios to mitigate risks and recover lost time., • Reporting & Communication:, • Prepare and present regular reports, dashboards, and forecasts for management and clients, distilling complex scheduling data into clear, actionable insights., • Documentation & Compliance:, • Ensure all project files and scheduling procedures are properly documented and comply with internal standards and contractual requirements., • Other duties as directed by the Project Engineer, Project Manager or Operations Manager KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (must be authorized to work in the U.S.), • Experience as a construction project scheduler using the Contractor’s current scheduling software (Primavera) on at least two previous projects of comparable scope of work and of a value not less than half of this project’s value. (e.g. $110 million), • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in engineering, construction management or related field, • Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience, • Expertise in Oracle Primavera P6 software is essential., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting., • Familiarity with other project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Power BI) is a plus, • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies, including Critical Path Method (CPM) and Earned Value Management (EVM)., • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail., • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders at all levels., • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications, • Proven problem-solving ability, • Excellent planning, organizational skills; detail-oriented, • Selfmotivated; little supervision needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Mental Demands: The position requires a high degree of concentration in a busy environment. There is a substantial demand for analyzing, perceiving, comprehending, rapid decision making and exercising sound judgment to ensure individual and coworker safety in a potentially dangerous environment.Ability to follow directions and meet deadlines is critical. Environmental Demands: The position entails working on a busy construction site overseas, generally away from the employee’s family, and in countries whose laws and social norms may be much more restrictive than in the United States, with the potential for occasional periods of social unrest, military action, interruption of normal services such as electricity and water, natural disasters, and the like. Work involves a 60-hour workweek, 6 days a week/ 10 hours per day. Flexibility with hours/days is required. Individuals must have comfort working in a high-stress environment and be able to perform the above activities in extreme hot, cold, humid, and wet conditions depending on location and season. Exposure to construction equipment and sharp tools, including power tools, and materials. Some exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals, potential electric shock, significant heights and high noise level, including high-pitched noises. Some potential exposure to dust, fumes, smoke and airborne particles.
