Essential Duties: • Builds knowledge of dealer supported product lines, service standards, and procedures and keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributor., • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Service shop and Factory standards., • Vehicle inspection including factory warranty repairs, computer diagnostics and programming., • Attend local, regional, and national service schools and training sessions as requested., • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment not only in shop but also at customer sites., • Utilize various equipment and tools to include, but not limited to hand tools, power tools, testing/diagnostic equipment, cranes and hoists., • Foster close, positive working relationships with all service, parts and administrative personnel., • Minimum 3 years working in a full-time technician/mechanic role., • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record., • Working knowledge of automotive repair and familiarity with emergency vehicles and related vehicle on-board equipment., • Strong knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair and maintenance of vehicles from passenger cars to heavy trucks., • Strong understanding of gasoline and diesel engine operating principles., • Ability to locate, correct, and adjust defects in complex vehicles and mechanical equipment., • Perform skilled repairs, overhauls and maintenance work on powered automotive equipment., • Interpret and work from charts, technical manuals, software and diagrams., • Maintain detailed and routine records, • Strong background in vehicle electrical, air conditioning, heating, braking and powertrain systems, including diagnosis and repair., • Excellent skills in communication, interpersonal, organizational and attention to detail, • Working usage of MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new technologies quickly. ADA Requirements: • Bend, squat, climb, grasp, twist, reach, lift or otherwise move frequently for extended periods., • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally., • Walk, stand, or otherwise move about continuously., • Typically sits, grasp items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer., • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards including chemicals which may require respiratory protection.
