Job DescriptionJob Title: Pickle Line Production Worker Job Description Work as part of a fast-paced production team in a food manufacturing environment, handling, packing, and palletizing products on a high-speed pickle and sauce production line. This role involves consistent lifting, operating around machinery, and maintaining strict cleanliness and quality standards throughout each shift. Responsibilities • Work on high-speed production lines to support the manufacturing of food products such as pickles, sauces, and related items., • Load and unload product into machines, including placing boxes weighing 15–20 pounds onto the front of the machine and removing finished boxes from the end of the line., • Open boxes containing empty glass bottles and feed them into the production machine to move through the full manufacturing process., • Grab finished boxes off the line and stack them neatly and safely onto pallets for shipping or storage., • Palletize product and wrap completed pallets to ensure stability and product protection., • Use pallet jacks as needed to move pallets and materials around the production and warehouse areas., • Work closely with 10–20 team members on each line to keep production moving smoothly and efficiently., • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift, following all cleanliness and sanitation expectations., • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality procedures to ensure food safety and product consistency., • Collaborate with team members and line leads to meet production targets and respond to changing line needs., • Stay alert to potential quality or safety issues and report them promptly to support a safe and compliant operation., • Stand for 10–12 hour shifts as required by the production schedule and assigned line.Essential Skills, • Ability to lift and handle boxes weighing 15–20 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift., • Ability to stand and be on your feet for 10–12 hour shifts., • Ability to work effectively on a high-speed production line., • Ability to work cooperatively with others on a production line and in a busy warehouse environment., • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area throughout the day., • Ability to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety guidelines., • Comfort working around strong food-related smells such as garlic, jalapeños, salsa, and taco sauce., • Comfort working around loud, heat-generating production machinery., • Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment, including gloves, hair nets, beard nets, ear plugs, and safety glasses.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience in warehouse, general labor, or production roles is helpful., • Experience working on production lines, including stacking, packing, and palletizing, is an advantage., • Familiarity with using a pallet jack in a production or warehouse environment is beneficial., • Ability to communicate and work effectively in a diverse environment alongside coworkers who speak languages such as Spanish and Haitian Creole.Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a busy food manufacturing and warehouse environment on the production floor. The facility does not have air conditioning or heating, so it is cold in the winter and warm in the summer, with additional heat generated by nearby machinery. Shifts are typically 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with lines running 10 or 12 hours depending on production needs, so you must be comfortable standing for long periods. You will work around strong food aromas, including garlic, jalapeños, salsa, and taco sauce. Personal protective equipment is required and provided, including gloves, hair nets, beard nets, ear plugs, and safety glasses. You must provide your own steel-toe boots. Temporary workers wear royal blue shirts while on shift, which are supplied at the start of the assignment. You will work on a line with approximately 10–20 coworkers, and during peak season there may be 160–200 people in the warehouse, creating a lively, high-activity environment. The workforce is diverse, with many employees speaking Spanish or Haitian Creole, and you should be comfortable working alongside people from different backgrounds. Each employee receives a locker and lock for personal belongings, and there is a break room with microwaves and vending machines available for meals and breaks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hurlock, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
