Key Responsibilities • Act as a strategic and operational HR partner to the leadership team, providing expert advice across employee relations, industrial relations, employment law and policy application., • Lead and manage complex ER cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters, ensuring consistency, fairness and legal compliance., • Build and maintain constructive relationships with trade unions, supporting consultation and negotiation on pay, terms and conditions, and procedural matters., • Support organisational change activity, including restructures, TUPE transfers and redundancy programmes, ensuring legislative compliance and best practice., • Work closely with the Head of People to deliver an effective HR partnering service across Employee Relations, Resourcing, Reward and Learning & Development., • Contribute to workforce planning, resourcing strategies, succession planning, talent development and recruitment of key operational and leadership roles., • Support Employment Tribunal case preparation and represent the business where appropriate., • Coach and support managers to address performance issues confidently and fairly, promoting a high-performance, engaged workforce. Skills and Experience • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor within a complex, unionised environment., • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and best practice employee relations frameworks., • Demonstrable experience handling complex ER cases end-to-end., • Experience of working with trade unions, including consultation and negotiation., • Confident communicator with the ability to influence, challenge and build credibility with senior stakeholders., • Resilient, pragmatic and adaptable, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, operational setting., • CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience) preferred.
