Description\nWithin Trant, the primary duty of the Site Manager is to ensure safe and compliant practices on their site. The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site activities for their dedicated site, ensuring works are delivered on schedule, within budget, to SHEQ standards, clients contract conditions and regulatory standards. The role manages site personnel, coordinates subcontractors, and acts as a key interface between construction, engineering, and commissioning teams. \nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Responsibilities: Site Management\n\nManage and supervise site teams, including subcontractors and operatives.\n\nEnsure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of construction and installation works.\n\nManage site resources, plant, and materials effectively.\n\nMaintain quality standards, inspections, and defect management.\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\n\nCarry out duties in accordance with Company Management System, Policies, Statutory and Client requirements.\n\nEnsure all site activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.\n\nMonitor site progress against programme and report issues or delays to the Senior Site Manager / Project Manager.\n\nConduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.\n\nFollow CDM Regulations, site rules, permits to work, and isolation procedures.\n\nProvide regular site progress reports, including programme updates and resource usage.\n\nMaintain site records, quality documentation, and Health & Safety logs.\n\nSupport audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.\nStakeholder Management\n\nAct as a primary site interface for clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.\n\nCoordinate with design, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure works are aligned with project requirements.\n\nClose liaison with commercial and planning staff to ensure that work proceeds within budget and schedule. \n\nResolve site issues proactively, escalating to Project Manager as required.\n\nSupport handover and client acceptance activities\n\nKey Interfaces:\nInternal Interfaces\n\nProject Managers\n\nContracts Manager\n\nEngineering & Design Teams\n\nConstruction Teams\n\nCommissioning Teams\n\nSHEQ Teams\n\nProject Controls / Planning\nExternal Interfaces\n\nClients / Asset Owners\n\nSubcontractors & Suppliers\n\nRegulators / Authorities\n\nCore Values\n\nUphold and promote the Company’s Core Values – Care, Trust, Respect and Sustainability. \n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nEssential\n\nSMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent site management health and safety certification.\n\nProven experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager delivering projects in the water and/or energy sectors.\n\nExperience managing multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.\n\nExperience overseeing site delivery on programme, within budget, and to quality standards.\n\n Demonstrable experience in health, safety, and environmental compliance on construction or engineering sites.\nDesirable\n\nHNC, HND, or Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, or related Engineering discipline.\n\nCDM Coordinator/Management training relevant to UK construction projects.\n\nExperience working on AMP, D&B, EPC, or regulated utility frameworks.\n\nExposure to commissioning or handover activities, coordinating closely with engineering and commissioning teams.\n\nExperience liaising with clients, regulators, and statutory authorities on-site.\n\nBenefits\nAt Trant, we offer the opportunity for career development and progression within a professional working environment, and we strongly encourage employees to gain professional qualifications and fully support individuals on their journeys towards chartership.\n\nOur company benefits package includes.\n\nCompetitive salary\n\nCompany car or car allowance (some levels)\n\nMentored support within our ‘Career Development Association’, to work towards chartership\n\n24 days holiday (increasing with service) + 8 bank holidays\n\nOptions to buy additional holiday via salary sacrifice\n\nCompany Pension Scheme\n\nFlexible working based on a ‘core hours’ system\n\n1 x Professional Membership paid annually\n\nHybrid working\n\nEmployee Assistance Program\n\nFree onsite parking\n\nBike to Work Scheme\n\nDiscretionary annual bonus
