Purpose of the role Help life sciences deliver more equitable clinical trials. COUCH Health is a global creative health engagement agency working with the life sciences industry to make health experiences more inclusive, accessible, and human. Too many people still can’t access treatments because they’re not seen, heard, or supported to take part in research. We work with pharma and clinical research teams to change that — by improving how they engage patients and communities, and by removing barriers to participation in clinical trials. We’re hiring a Business Development Manager to grow COUCH by building new relationships across pharma and clinical research, shaping solutions to real industry problems, and keeping the patient experience at the centre of every commercial conversation. What you’ll be doing Business development and new customer growth • Build and progress a strong pipeline through proactive outreach, networking, events, referrals, and partnerships, • Lead discovery conversations with pharma and clinical trial teams to understand challenges, timelines, and success measures, • Clearly position COUCH’s capabilities, linking patient engagement, inclusion, and insight directly to trial outcomes, • Develop proposals and presentations that demonstrate value, credibility, and measurable impact, • Stay close to changes in the clinical trial and patient recruitment landscape, • Spot opportunities to evolve services, adopt new approaches, and strengthen our offering, • Work as part of a small, ambitious commercial team based in our Manchester city-centre office, • Share market insight so we learn quickly and improve how we win work You’ll be successful in this role if you: • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline with consistent momentum, • Win new customers through consultative, value-led selling, • Bring in work that aligns with COUCH’s mission and strengths, • Influence solution development by staying close to client needs and industry change, • Become a trusted internal voice on what the market wants and how COUCH should respond About you You’ll be a great fit if you have: • A track record in B2B consultative sales, ideally within pharma, clinical trials, or healthcare, • Confidence navigating multiple decision-makers and varied sales cycles, • Strong commercial judgement and comfort negotiating and closing, • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, • Experience with patient recruitment, CROs, or clinical trial operations, • Understanding of health equity challenges in clinical research Why join COUCH • Purpose with real-world impact: your work directly improves access, inclusion, and equity in healthcare, • Clear commercial opportunity with uncapped commission, • A passionate, ambitious team focused on doing meaningful work well, • A strong mission and point of view: we’re here to make health human This role is office-based in central Manchester and suits someone who enjoys building relationships in person, working at pace, and being part of a social, collaborative team.
