Head of Technical Services| £55k -£65k DOB | Permanent | Cuffley- Herts | Our client is a dynamic technology solutions provider specialising in Auto-ID, Point of Sale, enterprise mobility, and networking, trusted by global brands across retail, transport & logistics, aviation, hospitality, manufacturing, healthcare, and field services. The business is creating a new technology and services team to accelerate its transition from hardware reseller to a full end-to-end solutions partner (VAR, Systems Integrator, MSP). The organisation is seeking a senior technical leader to build and lead this function, positioning technology capability as a core differentiator for customers and suppliers and playing a key role within the Senior Leadership Team. This is a step up to a senior role, hands-on leadership role Head of Technical Services As part of the Operations Department, the position reports to the Operations Director and will initially report directly to the Managing Director. The successful candidate will build and lead a multi-disciplinary technical services organisation covering IT Service Management (ITSM), solution architecture, systems integration, software, internal IT, and productised services The Benefits Package: Clear progression path towards a more roles as skills, experience and the business grow. ? Flexible working with 1 WFH if required The Basics Salary is £55-65K Depending on background Mon Fri 9:00am 17:30pm with flexible working and 1 day WFH if needed Responsibilities: Leadership & Service Organisation Lead, build and develop the Technology & Services function, including solution architecture, engineering, ITSM, project management, service delivery and field services. Define clear service lines, SLAs, commercial models and delivery processes. Own departmental P&L, ROI, resource utilisation and scalable growth. Act as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. IT Service Management & Service Delivery Own end-to-end IT Service Management across customer-facing services, including service desk, incident/change management, asset and device management, and continual improvement. Manage the full services portfolio (managed services, professional services, support, field engineering, DaaS and managed print). Build and govern a UK and international field services and subcontractor network. Lead service commercials, tenders, renewals and reviews, supporting sales with solution scoping and margin management. Solution Architecture & Systems Integration Lead pre- and post-sales solution architecture across core hardware, software and integrated technologies. Own systems integration for complex, hardware-led and bespoke solutions from design through deployment and support. Establish and grow systems integration capability, including kiosks and integrated platforms. Technology Strategy, Vendors & Innovation Define and deliver the technology and software roadmap aligned to key industry sectors. Own senior technical relationships with strategic vendors and partners. Lead evaluation, testing and onboarding of new technologies and manage demo and proof-of-concept environments. Customer Engagement & Internal Technology Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, working closely with sales on solution development and innovation. Lead customer technology showcases, experience centre strategy and technical evangelism. Provide leadership for internal IT, systems, integrations, automation and practical AI enablement initiatives. Skills & Requirements Senior technology leader with proven experience in IT service management and service delivery leadership (ideally ITIL, MSP or similar environment). Strong background in solution architecture and systems integration across retail, logistics, manufacturing, hospitality or similar industries; comfortable with both hardware and software-centric solutions. Confident working directly with enterprise customers senior IT stakeholders and vendors, able to translate business problems into practical, commercially viable solutions. ?
