Key Responsibilities • Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery of tools and equipment., • Manage and maintain the inventory of tools, dies, fixtures, and spare parts, implementing robust tracking and reordering systems., • Supervise, train, and mentor tool room personnel, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering a safe working environment., • Implement and enforce strict quality control measures for all tooling, ensuring they meet manufacturing specifications and tolerances., • Develop and manage the tool room budget, including procurement of new equipment, maintenance, and personnel costs., • Coordinate with production and engineering departments to understand tooling needs, troubleshoot issues, and support new product development., • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and repaired to minimize downtime and maximize lifespan., • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all critical tooling and machinery within the tool room. Recommended Qualifications • Proven experience in a tool room or manufacturing environment, with a focus on tooling maintenance and repair., • Strong understanding of machining processes, tool design, and material properties., • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team., • Proficiency in inventory management, scheduling, and resource allocation., • Knowledge of quality control standards and procedures relevant to tool manufacturing and maintenance., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Bonus Qualifications • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives., • Certification in inventory management or supply chain logistics., • Proficiency in CAD software for tool design or modification., • Familiarity with predictive maintenance strategies for tooling., • Experience in vendor management and negotiation for tooling suppliers.
