Job Description Job Title: Senior Project Manager Job Description The Senior Project Manager leads complex, large-scale new construction projects, with a primary focus on hospitality and casino-related work in a fast-paced urban environment. This role oversees general contracting and construction management services from preconstruction through owner occupancy, managing a dedicated project team and coordinating with partner firms. The Senior Project Manager ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining strong relationships with clients, design teams, city officials, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities • Lead and manage the power team responsible for a defined portion of a major hotel and casino project, coordinating closely with partner firms., • Oversee project teams of approximately 5–6 members, including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers, with a primary scope focus to be determined between hotel and casino work., • Plan, organize, and drive the timely and cost-effective execution of general contracting and construction management services for both public and private sector clients., • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules to ensure all phases of construction meet established deadlines, including estimates, budgets, procurement, permits, inspections, and owner occupancy., • Manage large new construction projects with budgets of $20M+ across hospitality, entertainment, industrial, multifamily, education, commercial, or airport sectors., • Coordinate daily with clients, architects, engineers, design professionals, city officials, subcontractors, superintendents, field crews, and community stakeholders to keep all parties aligned and informed., • Utilize advanced construction technology tools, including Procore, to develop, manage, and distribute critical project documentation such as drawings, RFIs, submittals, invoices, and payroll applications., • Monitor project costs and financial performance, proactively identifying and addressing risks to maintain budget and profitability targets., • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and contract specifications throughout all stages of construction., • Lead problem-solving efforts, providing creative and practical solutions to field and coordination issues as they arise., • Prepare and deliver clear, concise project updates and reports to internal leadership and external stakeholders., • Foster a collaborative, partnership-focused team culture that emphasizes accountability, communication, and continuous improvement., • Mentor and support junior team members, helping them develop their technical, managerial, and communication skills., • 3–5+ years of true Project Management experience in construction (not Assistant Project Manager), with responsibility for full project lifecycle., • Proficiency in Procore as the primary project management and construction documentation platform., • Demonstrated experience managing new ground-up construction projects with budgets of $20M or more., • Background in new build projects in one or more of the following areas: hospitality, entertainment, industrial, multifamily, large commercial build-outs, education, commercial, or airport projects., • Strong knowledge of general contracting and construction management processes for both public and private sector work., • Proven ability to develop, track, and maintain project schedules and budgets while meeting deadlines., • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, design teams, city officials, subcontractors, field staff, and community stakeholders., • Exceptional organization and time-management skills with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment., • Ability to lead and coordinate project teams of multiple roles, including PMs, APMs, and PEs, on complex construction projects., • Experience at the Senior Project Manager level is highly valued, especially with at least 3–5 years as a PM on new builds of $20M+., • Experience supporting entertainment or casino projects is a plus., • Proficiency with additional construction and design tools such as Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, and Primavera P6., • Experience managing fast-paced urban or suburban construction projects with multiple stakeholders., • Ability to build strong partnerships and collaborate effectively with other general contractors and partner firms., • Track record of creative problem-solving and sound decision-making under pressure. This position is based on site at a major casino project in downtown Chicago for the remaining duration of the project (approximately 27 months), followed by a rotation back to the office. The role is fully on-site with no hybrid schedule, supporting an active construction site where work has progressed through site work and is moving into vertical construction. You will work closely with a team of about a dozen on-site professionals, collaborating daily with field and office personnel. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, typical of large urban construction projects, with frequent interaction with partner firms, design teams, and city representatives. Office work will be supported by modern construction technology tools, including Procore and other digital platforms, in established Chicagoland offices serving both Illinois and Indiana markets. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62.50 - $79.33/hr.
