Job DescriptionPLEASE NO CALLS/EMAILS FROM RECRUITERS OR THIRD PARTIESPosition Summary The Manager, Accounting (Product Sales) will be responsible for all operational accounting aspects for the Company's refined and renewable product sales revenue streams and supervision and mentoring of assigned team. General Duties and Responsibilities • Develop and oversee functions involved in the end-to-end accounting process surrounding product sales, inventory and related areas to ensure transactions are correctly and accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP., • Design, develop, and implement goals, policies, and procedures relating to the assigned business unit's responsibilities, including financial management, budgeting, and accounting., • Direct and oversee the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers pertaining to refined and renewable product sales business, including accounts receivable, inventory, prepaid expenses, other current assets, revenue, cost of product sold, accrual and payable accounts, operating expenses, and cash forecasting., • Own and review inventory and cost of goods sold supporting documents and system in detail on a daily basis to ensure accuracy., • Responsible for the monthly close process, including review of transaction processing, approval, and/or completion of journal entries and account reconciliations., • Manage revenue recognition and accounting issues, including interdepartmental follow-ups to ensure compliance with GAAP., • Develop processes/systems with a focus on continuous improvement and improve accuracy and efficiency., • Prepare and/or review reports, including margin and variance analysis vs. budget and forecast for distribution to Management multiple times per week and on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis., • Partner with the Commercial Department and Executive Management to review, analyze, research, and interpret financial results with appropriate stakeholders on an ongoing basis., • Work with the appropriate business units and stakeholders to identify opportunities, provide actionable data, and report performance metrics that enable the Company to make strategic and operational decisions., • Ensure timely customer billing and payment of commodity purchases and assist Treasury in cash forecasting and collections., • Responsible for effectively leading, developing, managing, and motivating direct reports., • Assist in external audits, including preparation of deliverables and answering questions., • Ensure compliance with internal controls policies and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Develop and modify internal controls as needed., • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external customers to consistently improve customer service., • Assist Senior Management on various projects/tasks as needed.Position QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:, • Strong working knowledge of general accounting, monthly close, financial reporting and GAAP concepts., • Ability to analyze, manipulate, summarize and communicate data clearly and to different audiences., • Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy., • Ability to identify business and accounting requirements of new types of business and implement solutions., • Excellent management skills, and demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and direct staff and subordinate staff., • Strong leadership abilities, including an assertive (yet diplomatic) personality and ability to handle change., • Excellent time management skills, with no or minimal direction from management to meet required deadlines., • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders and executives, adapting style and work to most effectively engage and influence the target audience with clarity, confidence, and conviction., • Motivated, self-directed and results-driven approach to work, also takes ownership of assigned tasks., • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining highest quality of work product., • Ability to maintain confidentiality., • Capable of establishing effective working relationships that promote teamwork and collaboration., • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to interact effectively with various levels of staff and management., • Ability to independently develop solutions to problems/challenges as they arise., • Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods., • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel Suite Products and Adobe Acrobat.Education, Experience, Qualifications:, • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration., • CPA preferred., • 7+ years of professional accounting experience required., • 2+ years supervisory experience required., • Experience within Oil and Gas Industry, Inventory or Manufacturing preferred., • The employee must occasionally position, transport and/or move up to 10 pounds., • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to:, • Be stationary for long periods of time., • Move about in an office environment., • Work using repetitive motion.
