Job Description Job Overview Dallas International School (DIS) is accredited by ISAS (Independent Schools Association of the Southwest), France's Ministry of Education, and the International Baccalaureate Organization. With about 700 students of over 30 nationalities, DIS is an international school on a human scale and the only one with a French and multilingual curriculum in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a city of seven million inhabitants which is in full demographic and economic expansion. DIS is proud to be one of the few schools globally to offer both the IB's Bilingual and Advanced Bilingual Diploma programs in a variety of languages. In addition to English and French, other languages currently taught in the school are Spanish, German and Mandarin Chinese. Job duties (include but are not limited to): • Student Life Management: Oversee all aspects of middle school student life, including attendance, behavior management, and extracurricular activities., • Behavior Management: Implement and enforce behavior management policies, collaborating with teachers, parents, and counselors to address student challenges effectively., • Academic Support: Collaborate with grade level coordinators to identify student needs, develop intervention strategies, and conduct bi-weekly check-ins to ensure progress., • Student Events: Plan and oversee middle school events, such as assemblies, field trips, and celebrations, while collaborating with the High School Dean on shared initiatives., • Leadership Programs: Serve as the advisor for the Middle School Delegates and manage the Middle School Student Ambassador Program to promote leadership and student engagement., • Carpool, Lunch, and Recess Supervision: Provide leadership and ensure a structured and safe environment during carpool, lunch, and recess periods., • Collaboration with Support Staff: Work closely with the assigned Student Affairs Assistant to ensure smooth middle school operations and resolve issues promptly., • Communication: Serve as a liaison between students, parents, and staff to foster open communication and resolve concerns effectively., • DIS Family Handbook Compliance: Ensure adherence to school policies, collaborating with the Student Affairs team to maintain and update the DIS Family Handbook annually. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in areas such as Educational Administration, Student Development, Student Affairs, or related field., • Three (3) years of experience in student affairs, character building or citizenship programming, student records management, and/or student activities coordination in Middle and/or High School., • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills., • The flexibility and creativity associated with a private school education., • Supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree in areas such as Educational Administration, Student Development, Student Affairs, or related field., • Five (5) years of experience in student affairs, character building or citizenship programming, student records management, and/or student activities coordination in Middle and/or High School., • Teaching experience preferred., • Bilingual French language skills are a plus.
