Job Description Apex Skin is a rapidly growing skincare organization committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences. We are currently seeking a talented Medical Assistant to join our Mayfield Heights team. This role is responsible for a blend of administrative and clinical duties, including maintaining patient records, preparing exam rooms, supporting physicians during exams and procedures, and managing front-desk tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, team-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, hourly (40 hours/week) position and requires legal authorization to work in the United States. Essential Functions • Escort patients to exam rooms in appointment order; obtain medical histories, vital signs, and updated medication lists., • Prepare exam rooms based on scheduled procedures and anticipate provider needs., • Provide real-time transcription/documentation during visits to ensure compliance with legal, state, and Medicare standards., • Assist physicians with biopsies, surgical procedures, and other clinical needs., • Educate patients on treatment plans, medication usage, and follow-up care before they leave the office., • Clean and restock exam rooms between patients., • Maintain accurate patient records and charts., • Provide appropriate and timely emergency care when needed., • Demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and adherence to OSHA/HIPAA standards., • Monitor and complete lab documentation, biopsy/culture logs, telephone encounters, and EMR task queues., • Manage all clinical phone calls in partnership with providers., • Track and follow up on biopsy results for patients., • Assist with autoclave procedures and quality control tasks., • Perform clerical functions such as prior authorizations, scheduling, answering phones, and scanning documents into the EMR., • Strong communication and teamwork skills, • Ability to multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment, • Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills, • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail, • Proficiency in basic computer software, • Familiarity with medical terminology, • Strong focus on quality and professionalismPreferred, • BA/BS degree in a related field, • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, • 1+ year of dermatology experience, • Monday–Friday schedule (occasional Saturday mornings), • Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays, • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, • Company-paid Life Insurance, • Short-Term Disability, • 401(k), • Employee discounts on dermatology/aesthetic services, • Travel, leisure, sporting event, concert, and movie ticket discounts All patient-facing employees are required to provide proof of a TB test within the past 12 months and an annual flu vaccination as part of Apex Skin’s employee health and safety protocols.
