Tracks, schedules, and prioritizes equipment repairs and maintenance. Establishes productivity goals and tracks progress of work. Maintains and procures the parts inventory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities All duties and responsibilities include the following, however, other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Supervises maintenance functions and purchasing activities for the maintenance shop., • Evaluates and authorizes maintenance repair estimates submitted by external maintenance vendors for owned equipment, • Oversees maintenance and repair of equipment, both in the shop/yard and at the project sites., • Maintains a cost effective control of spare parts and consumable inventory for the maintenance shop., • Ensures that all equipment is completely inspected at least once a year and is calibrated based on the manufacturer’s recommendations or government standard., • Reviews employee training to ensure a skilled mechanic workforce., • Ensures the maintenance shop is properly maintained, functional and clean., • Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance schedule on equipment., • Establishes service schedules on equipment for warranty compliance., • Verifies that all costs associated with maintenance of Flintco equipment are tracked to the appropriate equipment number., • Maintains accurate records of equipment history and repair., • Supports out-of-town projects including identifying all sources of equipment maintenance, fueling, repair and spare parts., • Establishes productivity expectations and tracks the production and activity of the mechanic workforce., • Manages the inbound and outbound inspection process., • Ensures the ready status of idle equipment., • Ensures the required governmental reporting is tracked, maintained, and filed as required., • Oversees the prompt and accurate coding, submission and payment of all related maintenance and repair invoices, • Participates in the equipment evaluation process to determine buy/sell needs., • Develops and maintains files on all equipment for historical data. Effectively trains, coaches, disciplines and develops employees to achieve and maintain positive working relationships within the maintenance shop. Achieves desired results through effective leadership and appropriate influence while adhering to establis Knowledge/Skills/Ability Reads, analyzes and interprets complex documents. Responds effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts and draws valid conclusions. Interprets an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deals with several abstract and concrete variables. Recognizes and maintains confidentiality of information. Organizes and manages time, duties and activities efficiently. Education Associates Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience 5-10 years mechanic's experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. The employee may be occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is generally loud.
