Job DescriptionJob Title: General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker operates automated conveyor lines and testing equipment to build and assemble high-quality pumps. This role follows detailed work instructions, performs basic product gauging and inspection, and supports production flow by moving materials and replenishing stock. The position plays a key part in maintaining consistent quality, documenting production activities, and supporting continuous improvement efforts in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Operate all components of the automated conveyor line and testing equipment in accordance with established work instructions to assemble quality pump products., • Learn and apply gauging techniques to inspect products as required and verify that parts meet specified standards., • Move materials and parts within the cell work area to support efficient workflow and replenish stock as needed to avoid production delays., • Maintain accurate production, quality, and equipment documentation in line with plant and customer requirements., • Review and understand quality alerts, promptly identify issues, and report them to the team lead for further action., • Repair defective or rejected production parts on a daily basis to support recovery of usable product and minimize scrap., • Analyze product defects and assist in implementing corrective action programs to prevent recurrence and improve overall quality., • Handle and operate various production equipment and tools, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, welding, and hand tool-based machinery, as required for the assigned tasks., • Follow all safety procedures, use required personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area., • Physically lift and move pumps, including lifting up to 40 pounds to place products next to the station for stacking and shipping.Essential Skills, • At least 2 years of recent experience in a manufacturing environment in a production worker, machine operator, or assembler role., • Consistent and stable work history with good tenure in previous production or assembly positions., • Hands-on assembly experience in a manufacturing setting, with the ability to follow standardized work instructions., • Ability to safely lift and move up to 40 pounds, including lifting pumps and positioning them for stacking and shipping., • Experience working around or with production machinery such as hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, welding, and hand tool-based equipment., • Ability to understand and follow quality alerts and basic quality procedures., • Capability to complete production and quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner., • Willingness and ability to work a schedule that may require availability up to 7 days a week.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Gauge experience or prior exposure to using gauging tools and measurement devices for product inspection., • Familiarity with automated conveyor lines and testing equipment in a manufacturing environment., • Basic troubleshooting skills to help identify defects and support corrective action efforts., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products., • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented production cell., • Reliability and punctuality in adhering to assigned shifts and schedules.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a newly renovated manufacturing plant in Warren that produces pump, valvetrain, transmission, and electric drive components and systems for major automotive customers. The facility operates multiple types of equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, welding, and hand tool-based machinery, within a high-volume production setting. The work involves standing, moving materials, and lifting up to 40 pounds as part of daily tasks. Safety gear is an integral part of the environment, with steel toe footwear, safety glasses, ear plugs, and gloves provided or supported. The plant runs on multiple shift options, including 8-hour and 10-hour schedules: 8-hour shifts typically run on 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM), and 3rd shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM); 10-hour shifts typically run on 1st shift (5:00 AM – 3:30 PM) and 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 1:30 AM). The operation may require availability up to 7 days a week, reflecting a fast-paced, production-driven environment where teamwork, safety, and quality are central. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.50/hr.
