These are the leadership traits that define our future Dean, Academic Affairs (Nursing). Based at our Irving Campus, this role provides academic leadership and strategic oversight for both our Daytime and Evening & Weekend nursing programs. As the academic leader, you will shape the vision, ensure excellence in delivery, and provide continuity across programs—driving student success while fostering a culture of care, accountability, and innovation. The Dean of Academic Affairs will oversee the management, quality, and performance of the nursing academic portfolio, building and empowering a high‑performing faculty and academic support team. This role ensures curricula remain current, rigorously delivered, and aligned with institutional objectives, accreditation standards, and workforce needs—while leveraging data‑informed strategies to elevate student outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Execute the BSN academic strategy for the Irving Campus, with direct accountability for student outcomes including NCLEX pass rates, persistence, graduation, and student satisfaction., • Provide academic leadership across Daytime and Evening/Weekend programs, ensuring consistency, quality, and regulatory compliance., • Ensure curriculum delivery meets institutional standards and accreditation requirements through continuous evaluation, assessment, and improvement., • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing academic team—faculty, lab staff, experiential learning partners, and academic support teams—aligned to student success., • Oversee faculty hiring, onboarding, development, scheduling, performance management, and retention, including accountability for teaching excellence and engagement., • Embed Chamberlain Care® principles and Covista culture expectations into academic operations, faculty practices, and student support., • Manage academic operations in partnership with national support teams, including faculty workload models, budgets, and instructional resources., • Serve as a trusted liaison to internal stakeholders, community partners, and governing bodies with professionalism and care., • Lead program growth, innovation, and curricular change with agility, responding to evolving healthcare education and workforce demands., • Prioritize Student Success – Anticipate student needs, empower faculty to remove barriers, and lead solutions that improve outcomes., • Connect to the Vision – Align daily academic work to Chapelman University’s mission, vision, and strategic goals., • Strive to Improve – Leverage feedback, innovation, and data to continuously improve academic quality and operating models., • Work as One Team – Collaborate closely with the Executive Director, ADAAs, and peers to support academic and business outcomes., • Own Outcomes – Demonstrate ethical leadership, accountability, and celebration of individual and team success., • Performs other duties as assigned, • Students achieve strong and sustained outcomes, including meeting or exceeding national BSN average NCLEX pass rates., • High levels of student engagement and satisfaction, reflected in NPS feedback., • Enrollment, persistence, and graduation targets are consistently met or exceeded., • Strong faculty engagement, development, and retention, with low regrettable turnover., • Master’s degree in Nursing required; doctoral degree in Nursing strongly preferred., • Minimum of five (5) years of full‑time experience in nursing education, including at least three (3) years in an academic leadership role., • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and advise faculty and students effectively., • Strong interpersonal, organizational, conflict‑resolution, and computer proficiency skills., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of leadership and stakeholders., • Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgment., • Capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, while managing multiple priorities., • Exceptional organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills., • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and ethical leadership. In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $100,171.61 and $130,000.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
