Job Description Position Summary The Lead Custodian / Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the overall cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and appearance of ReVive Center's facilities and grounds. This position oversees custodial operations, coordinates maintenance activities, supervises support staff and contractors, and performs routine maintenance and custodial tasks to ensure a clean, safe, welcoming, and functional environment for employees, clients, tenants, and visitors. The ideal candidate is a dependable, hands-on leader who demonstrates strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. This individual takes pride in maintaining facilities, responds effectively to changing priorities, and works collaboratively with staff while supporting ReVive Center's mission. Position Responsibilities Vision & Communication • Support the mission, values, and goals of ReVive Center through professional service and stewardship of agency facilities., • Foster positive working relationships with staff, tenants, clients, contractors, and visitors., • Maintain open communication with the Director of Operations (DO) regarding maintenance needs, safety concerns, project status, and operational issues., • Adhere to established work schedules while remaining flexible to respond to emergencies and changing organizational needs., • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Facilities Coordination • Supervise and maintain schedule for custodial support staff and contracted service providers., • Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily work assignments., • Document and track maintenance requests using the agency's work order system., • Coordinate with vendors providing services such as HVAC, elevator maintenance, pest control, landscaping, waste removal, and other contracted building services., • Maintain inventory of janitorial, maintenance, and facility supplies and recommend purchases to the Director of Operations., • Assist with planning and coordinating facility improvement projects. Building Maintenance • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of building systems., • Coordinate scheduled maintenance for HVAC, elevator, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and pest control systems., • Perform minor repairs to reduce reliance on outside contractors, including:, • Basic plumbing repairs (clearing drains, unclogging toilets, replacing fixtures), • Basic electrical work (changing light bulbs, ballasts, switches, outlets, and fixtures as appropriate), • Drywall patching and painting, • Minor carpentry and hardware repairs, • Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards promptly to the Director of Operations., • Assist with facility projects and repairs as assigned., • Prepare apartments and offices for occupancy, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs., • Ensure all buildings, equipment, and property remain secure and report security concerns immediately. Custodial Services • Perform routine custodial duties including:, • Vacuuming, • Sweeping, • Mopping, • Dusting, • Sanitizing restrooms, • Cleaning kitchens and break areas, • Emptying trash and recycling, • Maintain common areas, offices, meeting rooms, hallways, stairwells, and other agency spaces., • Keep storage, mechanical, and restricted-access areas clean and free of debris., • Clean interior and exterior windows as scheduled., • Maintain building entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, alleys, and exterior grounds free of litter and hazards., • Remove snow and ice and apply ice melt as needed., • Set up and break down meeting rooms for events, meetings, and trainings., • Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed. Safety & Compliance • Follow all agency safety procedures and applicable OSHA standards., • Properly use, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and maintenance materials., • Operate tools and equipment safely and maintain them in good working condition., • Identify and report safety hazards immediately., • Participate in emergency response procedures when necessary. Other duties • Perform other duties as assigned to support agency operations. Qualifications Required • High school diploma or equivalent., • Two or more years of custodial, maintenance, or facilities experience., • Previous experience supervising staff or coordinating vendors., • Experience using computer software including Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, email, timekeeping systems (ADP or similar), and online purchasing applications., • Ability to develop and maintain maintenance schedules and work plans., • Working knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, equipment, and supplies., • Experience operating hand tools and power tools safely., • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry repairs., • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds., • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities., • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills., • Commitment to ReVive Center's mission and values. Preferred • Bilingual in English and Spanish., • Experience working in nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, or residential facilities., • OSHA or facilities-related certifications.
