Job Description Job Title: General Laborer – Hospital Cleanup Job Description This role supports cleanup and facility operations in a hospital environment by maintaining clean, safe, and organized areas throughout the facility. You will perform a variety of physical tasks, follow established safety and infection control procedures, and work professionally in both patient-care and support areas while paying close attention to detail. Responsibilities • Remove debris, trash, and waste materials from designated areas throughout the hospital., • Clean and maintain hallways, storage areas, loading docks, and work zones to meet hospital standards., • Assist with renovation, construction, or maintenance cleanup projects within the facility as needed., • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize work areas according to hospital cleaning protocols., • Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials safely and efficiently throughout the facility., • Collect and transport recyclable materials and waste to appropriate disposal and recycling areas., • Follow infection control procedures, safety guidelines, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times., • Report safety hazards, spills, and maintenance concerns promptly to supervisors or appropriate personnel., • Support facility and maintenance teams with general labor tasks and special projects as assigned., • Maintain a professional appearance and respectful attitude while working in occupied hospital areas around patients, visitors, and staff., • Use hand tools and power tools safely when required for cleaning, disassembly, or material handling tasks., • Assist with loading and unloading trucks, breaking down pallets, and organizing materials in designated areas., • Perform basic assembly and disassembly tasks, including packing, unpacking, and organizing supplies and equipment., • Handle materials efficiently by picking, packing, and staging items for movement within the facility., • Maintain general housekeeping standards in all assigned work areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times. Essential Skills • Previous experience in general labor, janitorial, housekeeping, or cleanup roles preferred., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift., • Comfort working on your feet for extended periods, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying materials., • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and consistently., • Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and adherence to hospital protocols., • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and dependability., • Comfort working in warehouse, healthcare, hospital, or commercial facility environments is a plus., • Demonstrated safety awareness and commitment to using PPE and safe work practices., • Effective teamwork and communication skills to coordinate tasks with facility and maintenance staff., • Strong work ethic and attention to detail in all cleaning and material handling tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and material handling., • Familiarity with janitorial, cleaning, and housekeeping practices in commercial or healthcare settings., • Ability to perform tasks such as breaking down pallets, loading and unloading trucks, and organizing materials., • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely for basic cleaning, disassembly, or assembly tasks., • Comfort using tape measures, basic assembly tools, and related equipment for simple setup or breakdown tasks., • Experience with tasks such as picking, packing, and staging materials for movement within a facility., • Knowledge of sanitizing procedures and general cleaning standards in high-traffic environments., • Experience working in environments with established safety, infection control, or confidentiality requirements., • Strong interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with patients, visitors, and staff while performing duties. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
