Job Description DEPARTMENT: Advancement, Marketing, Communications SUPERVISOR: Chief Advancement Officer POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Marketing Coordinator Gesher Human Services is a bridge to hope and opportunity for people at work, at home, and in the community. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION The Director of Marketing and Communications under the direction of the Chief Advancement Officer is responsible for the Agency’s Marketing and Communications strategy. The Director will work with the organizations leaders to promote the Agency’s mission, campaigns and goals as well as leverage social media platforms for the purposes of internal and external branding. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field preferred. Other: • A minimum of 10 years related experience in designing and implementing public relations programs, writing, social media content, website content, and digital and print production., • Previous experience managing staff and vendor relationships., • Self-directed and self-motivated with excellent planning, organizing and project management skills to meet deadlines., • Create and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy, including but not limited to print and social media, public relations, websites, fundraising messaging, public events, and more. This strategy will include tactics to reach multiple external and internal audiences. This includes but is not limited to various online tools and other tactics., • Coordinate the production of video presentations for the organization, events, and more as needed., • Create strategy for PR priorities, in partnership with an external vendor, in order to promote Gesher in local radio, TV, print, and social media to enhance the visibility and reputation of Gesher across all media platforms with the public and key stakeholders;, • Work with appropriate Gesher staff including leadership, program employees and development team to determine Agency marketing and communication needs and to develop stories. These communications and marketing materials will include both internal and external communications., • Manage, coach and provide direction and support to the Marketing Coordinator., • Develop and maintain agency communications calendar., • Working with the Marketing Coordinator, ensure that the agency website and social media accounts are updated in line with the strategic marketing direction., • Manage contractual relationships with all outside vendors to ensure proper completion of project deliverables., • Oversee print and electronic production and distribution of Gesher materials such as brochures, flyers, e-newsletters and special events materials., • Assist in developing and monitoring budget for marketing, communications and public relations., • Prepare runs-of-show for events and prepare remarks for professional staff and board members as needed., • Design and update appropriate displays for special community events. Oversee scheduling of the Gesher displays., • Ensure there are regularly updated photographs for marketing purposes. As needed, take photographs or hire and assist photographer at special events and ongoing programming. Maintain electronic file of Gesher media coverage; share within agency and on social media as appropriate. Environmental conditions: • Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic)., • Ability to work in a confined area., • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment., • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
