Job Description MISSION STATEMENT: To be a beacon of light by transforming lives in the Vincentian spirit of charity, justice, and mercy through interpersonal connectivity. SUMMARY: As part of the Development Department, the Manager of Communications and Events reports to the Chief of Development (COD). This position will be responsible for planning, managing event volunteer committees, and executing Empty Bowls, SVdP CARES’ major annual six figure fundraising event. Within a culture of generosity and philanthropy, the position manages, designs, and produces external and internal collateral for the organization, inclusive of events. The position regularly collects content from programs for the organization’s communications, inclusive of stories and images for digital and direct mail fundraising campaigns. This position manages seamless seasonal and fundraising campaign execution with contracted website, digital media, and social media services. The position coordinates media stories and interviews. The Manager of Communications and Events is responsible for ensuring that her/his work supports the organization’s strategic plan, fundraising goals and objectives. Nothing in this job description restricts management’s rights to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at this time) Event Management • Coordinates, implements, and provides post event assessments for annual major fundraising event, • Manages event budgets, • Provides support to, represents the agency at, and provides follow up reports/stewardship for third party fundraising events., • Produce and edit agency print publications and collateral, including, but not limited to the annual report, donor handouts, donor mailings content, SSVF collateral pieces, and program collateral pieces, • Create and steward relationships with media outlets to benefit the goals and brand recognition of the organization, • Proactively communicate with the media to ensure SVdP CARES recognition, • Maintain graphics for fleet vehicles, and signage for agency, • Manage the communication calendar and ensure that social media and web content is provided to contracted services, • Meet monthly with web, digital, and social media partners to ensure adherence to annual development plan, • Oversee web content to ensure it is up to date and alignment with the organization’s strategic plan, • Manage the collection and creation of content for electronic, digital, and print fundraising communications and campaigns, • Provide text for marketing deliverables to COD/grant writers to include in proposals and grants upon request, • Prepare and distribute collateral and communications pieces for event invitations, promotions, advertising, programs, follow up communications, and planned giving, • Create and acquire branded resources such as note cards, signage, etc. for donor relations and events SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY • This position coordinates with contracted services but does not have a direct report OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: • Comply with all applicable training requirements, • Comply with all company safety, personnel and operational policies and procedures, • Comply with work schedule to ensure effective operations of Agency programs, • Contributes positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team, • Actively participate in the PQI System, • Performs other duties as necessary to fulfill the mission of St. Vincent de Paul CARES Employee Benefits: • Employer paid Employee only coverage (zero ded, $10 co pay plan), • 10k Employer paid Basic Life insurance, • 120 hrs PTO accrued biweekly starting at day 1 of employment, • 13 Paid Holidays to include Employee’s birthday and Date of Hire, • We also have various retention and referral bonuses, • 2 weeks paid training, • Flexible schedules in most positions, • 3% Employer match after 6 months, • We also offer Dental, Vision, Life, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital, ID Shield, Legal Shield, Additional Life, FSA Medical, and FSA Dependent Care REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Environment will occasionally become noisy due to equipment operations and interactions among clients and staff.
