Job Description Job Summary: A Warehouse Manager in our aluminum manufacturing plant has additional responsibilities related to the unique materials, equipment, and safety protocols inherent to the industry. This position will oversee the storage, handling, and distribution of aluminum material to the production floor, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment at our Manufacturing facility in Louisville, Kentucky. The Warehouse Manager's duties will include supervising a material handling team, ensuring compliance with industry safety standards, and working closely with production teams to ensure smooth material flow throughout the facility. This role is also responsible for receiving materials from outside vendors and participating in the cycle counting program. Duties & Responsibilities: • Models the company's values and beliefs, respects individuals at all times, and communicates openly and directly with team members in all positions., • Understands and accepts that an accident-free environment is not only possible but also achievable at Dant Clayton., • Manage and lead the team, ensuring all are properly trained, motivated, and working efficiently to ensure that hardware components are packed accurately and efficiently., • Supervise warehouse staff in the receipt, storage, and distribution of products, ensuring proper handling of various types of metals (e.g., steel, aluminum) and hardware., • Ensure the team is trained and cross-trained on procedures, equipment, safety protocols, and quality Standards, • Maintain accurate records of received and processed materials, including quantities and any relevant data as required for traceability and quality control purposes., • Ensure all metal materials are stored safely to prevent damage, corrosion, and contamination., • Oversee the organization of inventory, including proper labeling, segregation, and placement of metals according to size, grade, and type., • Manage the use of combi-lifts, forklifts, and cranes for loading, unloading, and moving metal products within the warehouse and from incoming trucks delivering material., • Monitor and manage stock levels of raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products, ensuring the timely replenishment of materials required for production., • Lead the cycle counting program and cycle counters to ensure inventory accuracy and policy deployment. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies., • Coordinate with the production team to ensure that required materials are delivered on time and meet production specifications., • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures, ensuring the safe handling of heavy and potentially hazardous materials, such as metal scrap, welding materials, and chemicals used in processing., • Conduct regular safety audits, ensuring workers follow proper safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe lifting techniques, and awareness of metal-related hazards., • Prepare and submit reports as requested on warehouse activities, including material usage, stock levels, and any operational issues., • Train and mentor warehouse staff in safety practices, material handling techniques, and the operation of warehouse equipment., • Ensure proper maintenance of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes, conveyor systems), scheduling repairs and servicing as needed., • Perform regular inspections of materials, handling, and storage areas to identify any potential safety or quality issues., • Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Control, Production, and Shipping/Logistics, to ensure smooth and timely operations., • Expected to work when team members are scheduled or work with another manager to cover for the time away., • Will be scheduled for no less than 40 hours per week, with possible overtime required to meet business needs., • Strong understanding of metal materials, including their properties, handling requirements, and the impact of environmental factors on their integrity., • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, • Preferred previous experience with data analytics, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically in Outlook, Word, and Excel., • Familiarity with the operation of warehouse machinery, such as forklifts, cranes, hoists, and conveyor systems., • Knowledge of workplace safety standards specific to metal manufacturing, including OSHA regulations and handling of hazardous materials., • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team., • Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset, adaptability to changing operational needs, and a proactive willingness to learn new systems and processes., • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills., • Ability to handle physical labor and work in industrial environments., • High school diploma or equivalent required; Degree preferred, certifications in logistics, warehouse management, and industrial safety preferred., • At least 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management, with specific experience in manufacturing or a metal-related environment preferred., • Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, cranes, and other lifting equipment., • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, often up to 50 pounds or more., • Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, cranes, and other lifting equipment., • Comfortable working in an industrial setting with high noise levels, temperature variations, and exposure to dust or fumes., • Competitive Compensation Packages, • Competitive Employee Benefit Packages, • Health, • Dental, • Vision, • Life & Disability Insurance, • Comprehensive Employee Wellness Program, • Health Savings Account – Employer Contributions, • 401 (k) with Employer Matching, • Professional Career Development Opportunities, • Learning Management System, • Paid Time Off, • Tuition Assistance Program, • Employee Reward and Recognition Program, • Value-Driven Culture
