Part-Time Sourdough Pizza Chef (Saturday Nights) Join Savage Pizza in Harpenden for our flagship Saturday-night service. You’ll hand-stretch slow-fermented dough, top to spec, run the deck oven, and help box orders—all in a fast, friendly pop-up environment. We sell out regularly! Shift & Pay Every Saturday · 3 pm – 9 pm (set-up through clean-down) £15 – £20 per hour Extra shifts as we add Friday nights and more. What You’ll Do Stretch 270 g sourdough doughballs and top pizzas accurately Manage oven temps, turning cadence, and bake colour Keep a spotless station and assist with prep/boxing Maintain food-safety and speed targets (12 pies/hour) What We’re Looking For: 1 yr+ pizza or similar line-cook experience Confident with high-heat deck or wood-fired ovens Level 2 Food Hygiene (or willing to get it) Calm, positive energy in a small team Perks Free staff pizza every shift Training in artisan sourdough and fermented chillies Scope to grow into more hours and a senior role as we scale Location Savage Pizza pop-up, Harpenden AL5. Duties and Responsibilities: · Follow specific measurements and instructions detailed in blueprints. · Accurately measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials. · Build frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes. · Install doors, windows, cabinetry, and moulding. · Inspect existing structures and fixtures for damage and make necessary repairs. · Use different types of materials including wood, plywood, wallboard, and insulation. · Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with local building codes and regulations. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. · Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members. · Perform regular maintenance on tools and report any issues or malfunctions. · Estimate the time and labour required to complete tasks. · Stay updated on new materials, tools, and techniques in carpentry. Skill/experience/qualifications: · Precision in measurements and cuts is crucial. · Carpentry often involves heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing, climbing, and bending. · Ability to identify and fix issues that arise during construction. · Basic math for measuring and calculating dimensions and costs. · Skilful use of hand and power tools. · Ability to visualize and create aesthetically pleasing structures.
